This is the only way to clean it up. Make the punishment severe. Another option would be to use all the stuff in the EULA about how blizzard can do what it wants with your personnel information. If you cheat then we give your Phone number and Address to everyone you cheated. If these people are unafraid of serious repercussions the problems will get worse and worse. I personally think everyone who gets cheated should join together in a class action lawsuit against the cheaters and sue for half the cost of the game. Because these scumbags are ruining a lot of peoples gaming experience. But I'm sure the first option would suffice. When these little babies go whining to their mommies that they need another 60$ to buy the same game they already bought. I bet their will be a few astute parents who start asking questions. Or just flat out say "NO WAY!" Deep down you know we all dream of doing this

Personally, I try not to get too angry when getting noobed by hack. The way I see it, they will never truly enjoy the game. Also set me a challenge to improve my timing and scouting to a point where it doesn't matter if ppl hack or not (Obviously, still working on this :D)

The problem is blizz sends information about the other players in the game to you for performance reasons -- sending information about units as soon as they bust out of fog causes problems under laggy conditions -- stuff won't appear until the packets arrive and are processed. In Blizz games, you know about those units while in fog to prevent the lag, but this allows map hack to happen. Personally I'd take no map hack mode for ladder matches then shut it off for tournaments where you can see that the person isn't hacking to get the better performance.

The first was for walling in as Terran in one of my placement matches >_> The second and third were just because of observer coverage The fourth was because I was trying really hard that game to keep my stalkers active throughout the map, and I found a guy's proxied Stargate, then later his hidden Gold expansion. I really wish people would at least just watch the replays before freaking out about this stuff.

That was a really good job by Blizzard, but an anti-hack-check at the start of every game would be way better!

So long as Blizzard committ to policing battle.net and keep releasing regular patches I am confident that map hacks will not become a huge problem.

After all they could essentially download it themselves and see what it looks like on their computers and have warden identify it in the computer's working memory.

Hopefully blizzard will utilize banwaves as they've done in diablo and wow, that way when 50'000 people get banned simultaneously it really sends a message.
