Okay so I've been having issues with my internet ever since my mom got a new computer and i have no clue how to fix it. The problem occurs whenever she tries to access the internet, it kicks everyone off the internet (Ethernet and Wireless users) until she gets connected. This takes anywhere from 2 to 10 minuets. It was tolerable while i was taking a break from Starcraft but now it will disconnect me in the middle of the game. So since i know all you TL'ers know more about this stuff than me i figured i'd ask you all.

Wow, I have windows 7 on my laptop and I have the same issue... I thought it was just our internet but I noticed when my dad gets onto his computer (which is a mac just a ps) I get booted off for anywhere from 1-10 minutes too... Some help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

It might be worth posting what router you use, in case somebody's had a specific experience with a similar problem.
Anyhow, this problem sounds pretty strange to me, seeing how it disconnects both existing Ethernet and Wi-Fi users connected. I wonder if that means that it's really a wireless issue like you said, or a problem or incompatibility with the Windows 7 networking stack and your router. Try having your mom connect using the new computer via Ethernet and see if that causes the same problems.
When you say that the router kicks everyone off, you mean that you are losing connection with the router, correct? (And not that the router is losing connection with the outside)
As usual, you might as well try updating the router firmware and network drivers on the new computer.

Okay right now we are working on trying to update the router firmware as suggested. Ill let you know if it does anything. fingers crossed! :D
