Interested in Law School? I Need Your Help!

Hi guys, I need your help!

As an RA I'm hosting a series of pre-professional programs. We've already had a career fair workshop and interview tip session. We're now moving to pre-law, pre-health, and possibly pre-Ph.D (and we have teaching English in Asia as well as Teach for America info sessions in the future).

We are getting a professor from the USC Gould School of Law to come and talk with undergrads who are interested in attending law school. The prof wants to give a little presentation in the beginning before it moves to Q&A which is awesome, but he wants a list of questions that he can touch on during his talk so he can make it more structured. The problem is that I'm pre-health, not pre-law so I have no idea about what pre-law students have questions about.

Please help me out and suggest questions that you may have as a pre-law student!

how important is the LSAT in determining law school acceptances (I.E LSAT score vs. GPA)

ask him a really specific constitutional law question about a specific case -- this will likely be a funny joke lol

im no expert on law schools but from talking to people who are doing prelaw and are in law school, it seems that gpa is important, but more of a cutoff thing, as in you can't have a 2.0 and a 4.0 is impressive, but it's not the main determinant. the lsat is a standardized test, so comparative scores matter more since it compares individuals objectively without looking at who went to what school

i might be completely wrong though

If it's a professor that's not on adcomm, I'd refrain from asking questions about getting into LS. These things will probably come up in Q&A, but he's not privy to that kind of information. illu/Xeris's questions will ellicit generic responses which anyone can anticipate (ie; "none specifically need to know how to read comprehensively/write well" and "although the LSAT is a critical component we look at the entire application in evaluating the prospective student").

I'd ask him/her about student publications (journals). How many/ their breadth and scope.
