Hahaha I swear Darker than Black Gaiden is just about letting them dress Yin up in different outfits and be awesome. Season 2's greatest failure is that Yin isn't around more often.

Either version. If Ciel can be bribed with curry bread in the more serious tsukihime, she can be owned by anything curry in Kagetsu Tohya. It sucks that her popularity clashes directly with that of Arcuied's... and that Arcuied is the heroine of the story.
Bard should be ashamed of disowning the psycho guy. He just shot down more mechs than Bard's entire unit.

and Kohaku only has one route. Thing is, though, that Ciel is Arc's antagonist. I feel that's hard to like Ciel if you like Arc, and vice versa. Needless to say, I'm not much of Arc's fan. I'm also assuming that Hisui is doing better than Ciel, judging by what you say? God that's depressing. So. Very. Depressing.
I thought that Akiha has been the #1 ranking since forever. Her fans are everywhere every time I talk about Tsukihime. The allure of sister characters, despite being non-related, still confounds me.
Psycho guy is just awesome. When he was first introduced, I thought he was on Athen's side, since he fits a villain's mold. I was plenty surprised that he wasn't.
In English? How often do light novels get translated into English?

Everyone does better to Ciel, even Len I think, the only saving grace is that you haven't seen her lose to random people like Akiha's classmates (would've been hilarious if Seo had a higher popularity than Ciel) or Satsuki (losing to someone with no routes, now that's something). Arc and Saber never suffered anything below the #1 place in their respective game polls though, Akiha was at 2 for the longest time, then Kagetsu Tohya + Melty Blood shows up and Kohaku hits 2
The allure of sister characters is something that only people without sisters can understand, or so my friend tells me. Akiha though is a brilliant character in my opinion, but nothing quite comes close to Kohaku route. Oh, and Magical Amber clearly wins votes.
He serves his own interests imo, since I haven't gotten raws for a while it is hard to say. Since I finally got PD working (after being lazy for months) I guess I should look.
Light Novels in English...relatively rare, though you have like, Shana, Haruhi, FMP and some others getting a few translations. Nishio Ishin (of Bakemonogatari fame for this thread) and his Zaregoto series is slated to have vol 2 released in June, brilliant series btw, imo easily better than Bake. But yeah, they come pretty slowly and with translation qualities that imo leaves much to be desired. For whatever reason, they tend to be transliterated into Americanism liberally, but censored as to be able to push it for lower grades (Zaregoto was apparently pushed down to 8th grade, I can assure you if I read it when I was a high school senior I still wouldn't have really understood it)...meh. Oh, someone posted the bungaku shoujo vol 1 translations, but I can't get it to download without getting something about corrupted archive, so if you want, pm me for link and give it a try.

Ciel just isn't that memorable a character. Since all the other characters are pretty well developed and have interesting quirks, Ciel just comes off as being remarkably plain.
The lack of light novels in English is depressing. I pretty much rely on Baka-Tsuki for any translations, but their release schedule is sketchy at best. I'm thankful that any of this gets translated at all, but still, i wish it was faster...
I believe BSS is subbing DtB Gaiden. They're usually pretty good about releasing stuff quickly, so assuming they have decent raws, maybe two days max?

Benefits of being Trilingual: You can be a full blown otaku much faster. :D
I read everything Type-Moon produced so far, and it's all pretty good. There were complaints about Natsu's writing style though, about how he drags out simple scenes too much simply to place dramatic emphasis.
I'm just wondering what their next work might be. Anyone heard of any news?
Anyway. Now that I'm done with Spice and Wolf, I'm looking for other suggestions.

Quoted for truth, maybe if I go quad I'll be able to resist the otaku temptations by having even more to read!
T-M stuff...not that bad, people who complain just need to read more. It could definitely be easier, but the complaints you see on like amazon about rakkyo being too hard for even Japanese is kind of sad. Their next work should be Mahoutsukai no Yoru, it'll be about Aoko's high school days before she became Red I think. Their site should have info. Looks like Reien Academy will make an appearance in this one too. That or that other project, Girl's Works or something, forgot what it was called. Haven't heard anything about that for a while though.
Spice and Wolf...in light novel form?

How is Neon Genesis Evangelion as an anime?
Evangelion is a must see for anyone getting into anime imo. But just to let you know theres being a remake of the Evangelion series with much better animation and whatknot. You should look into those, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone and Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance.
I havent seen the 2nd one so idk how far it goes into the series, but i doubt it finished the series. Anyone got any reliable info on if or when 3.0 will out?
Anyways, id also recommend watching Vision of Escaflowne if u havent seen it already

Anyways, id also recommend watching Vision of Escaflowne if u havent seen it already Just so you know, Rebuild of Evangelion is VERY different from the original TV series. While 1.0 more or less follows the original story, 2.0 pretty much destroys the notion that this is a remake - it's more of a re-imagining if anything. If you're going to watch Evangelion, watch the TV series first, End of Evangelion second, and the Rebuild series last.
No release date has been announced for 3.0 iirc.
Edit: Speaking of which, I recently came across this fanfic called Shinji and Warhammer 40k:
"You..! YOU ALL! Did you really believe THIS could have stood up against the Angels?! While we were all fighting for our lives, you were wasting your time and money in this... thing! This soulless thing... this... TOY... of greed and ambition! This thing was never about saving humanity! It was just about MONEY and POSITION!
You would have let Misato-san die! You would have a city burn!
This... displeases me."
The Evangelion walked over to its fallen Bolter and weilded it again. It aimed at the Jet Alone and fired, shredding it further.
The Evangelion roared once more. Know it well, you who would dare stand its way.
I AM -PRINCIPIO ETERNUS " It's a little ridiculous.

Rebuild is less about psychological issues and more about awesomeness, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Plus it's good to see Shinji not be all angsty for once.
Edit: What the heck.
