So I've just recently installed Windows 7, and I run Starcraft and notice there are no unit/selection sounds!
I'm fairly sure that this is some problem with reading WAV files. They actually work perfectly fine in VLC, but with Winamp or WMP (or in BW) they simply will not work at all.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
To clarify, I can hear MP3 just fine in Winamp. I have my updated sound card drivers and so on. I downloaded some giant 40 MB codec pack too, but with no results.

Ok, I fixed it by uninstalling all previously installed codecs and installing the K-Lite Standard pack.
Apparently there were numerous errors in the registry (things pointing at nothing etc.). Immediately after installing K-Lite the sound works perfectly. Seems strange from a fresh install of the OS, but I've seen stranger.
Also, you'd think Windows 7 would come with proper WAV support? I dunno, I got one of these student edition upgrades that was like 40 bucks so...
