This season seems particularly hard to pick a solid team with the players costs evening out, as well as the change in scoring, so I'd like to get some tips from TL before time runs out!
My team: Keen
Main Team 8 Bisu (captain) 7 Calm 7 Fantasy 0 Favian 2 Type-B 3 Yarnc 3 Hite Sparkyz
Anti Team 2 Lucifer 6 Luxury 5 Roro
Notes: - I'm hoping type-b or Yarnc will win their games this week so I can trade them for someone better next week, especially type-b since I doubt he'd be sent out every match. - I'll probably do the same with fantasy (if there's any viable alternatives) so I can get some top players from other teams. - Haha is just a placeholder, it's kind of risky picking him since I'll never be able to trade him off, but he won't get constant -2's like an ACE player would. (replaced with Favian). Also, Khan will probably win at least a couple more matches than ACE, so I'd get team win points as well. - Hite sucks but they look like they have a decent shot at taking their matches this week. - Antiteam was the hardest to pick, since all the 4-5-6 players will be winning games/be consistently in the lineups. I'm just hoping Lux falls into a terrible slump again, RorO turns out to be overhyped, and LuCifer loses his match vs ZerO and never gets sent out again.
Any suggestions for possible changes?

I'm pretty sure Smile >>> Haha
They serve the same purpose, but Fox is simply more likely to win than Khan.
You haven't said anything about picking clam...he hasn't been playing particularly well lately.
|
I'd take Favian, Smile or TurN instead of Haha. They are all Samsung 0 pointers, but make it easier to trade away Fantasy if necessary. One of each race rule...
edit: wtf, why is Smile protoss? It says terran in this list.
|
That's true, I'll pick Favian then. It's true FOX will probably win more than Khan, but being able to trade fantasy away is probably more important.
Calm's lost a few games recently but I'm pretty sure he'll still get sent out quite a bit. He's always been a better PL player than an individual league player. I seriously doubt he'll keep losing to players like Justin and HyuN

Main team looks pretty good but I'm not sure about your anti-team. Luxury is shaky is hell in individual leagues but he's been pretty solid in PL. Roro has the potential of being solid as well as being terrible all season.
All in all seems like an ok team, good luck
|
Anti is pretty tough to pick this season, Luxury seems like a bit of a gamble but the rest of the team is ok. Not sure about Bisu because he really hasn't been doing well but w/e
|
I think Turn might get sent out occasionally and possibly have a better win loss ratio than 1:2 So I'd take him over Favian if you want to make FPL more interesting and root for a rookie
|
I'm too worried about TurN just losing every game :x

ZvP is Roro's worst matchup and PvZ is right up there as one of free's best. I think you can confidently stick with Roro this week--just be ready to trade him (if possible) if he gets a better match-up next week.
Type-b isn't a bad choice but he's playing his worst matchup (ZvZ) once this week, so I'm not sure if you ought to pick him up out of the gate. Action is more likely to come out positive, I think.

I´m a bit surprised about your big money players: Bisu, Fanta,Calm. None of them have been showing their absolute best recently so they seem like risky choices to base your team on. Are they to have easy opponents now?
If it´s ok (I thought it would be nice to discuss each others choices) here is mine, I´m a complete newb: Nukez ´n Newbz
Main Team 3 Anytime 2 Boxer 4 Light 4 Ruby 3 Savior 9 Sea (captain) 5 MBCGame Hero
Anti Team 3 Firebathero 6 Leta 4 Skyhigh
Only thing I´m really anxious about is that Leta pick, I forgot Khan has Stork, well oDin is a TvZ specialist right? Savior is maybe my second most risky choice as he has shown great improvement lately and win percent in Proleague 09-10 is 50%, not that bad IMO. He has had a few worse games outside the SPL too but not in the same fashion as the previous onesided rapings he got still some time ago so if he improves still just a bit he might actually be destroying newbies. Otherwise I´m confident I´ll win the whole round 2.
The heart of my Team is Light-Sea-MBC, both seem to be in incredibly good shape and win games from just about anyone and also get lots of games, therefore 3-0 are to come. My Anti-team picks are heavily inspired by the FBH - Skyhigh game, they both seemed so slow and sloppy that I don´t think they´ll make a comeback quite yet, also atleast FBH won´t get many games.
2 players from ACE, Anytime and RuBy: first of all RuBy seemed like a safe choice, his TvT and TvZ have looked incredibly dangerous for an ACE player. Anytime came up with an old school PvZ build which I think means he´ll get some more games AND win. Also Reach and especially Yellow have showed some promise lately so they might be having a good round now like six months or so ago.
BoxeR is BoxeR.
Sorry if you don´t like my idea of sharing thoughts about other teams too. But yeah those are my tips too in a way.

oh crap you are right, but which zerg to replace, none of that price range have been that trustworthy :/
E. I think I found a solution, but it makes my team even more risky... LOL!
Savior => Yellow, Yellow has only one game and I really think he has a good chance at ZvZ.
And because 3 released points Light => Violet, Violet has 2 games: other against Effort on Match Point and other against Backho, now clearly Backho hasn´t played on stage for aeons and Violet is quite good so I´m confident to get some points. Against Effort however I had to use reverse psychology-like-thingy: Effort ZvP is on a 8 win streak including 2 games from Violet. On the other hand every streak ends sooner or later and I think now is later, also Match Point isn´t a great map for zerg because long distance to 3rd gas and hard to keep 3rd and 4th gases.

You are right, but I´m a big fan of crazy shit I´m also a fan of ACE so I let myself slip this time.

Honestly I still think Jangbi is a good pick to go for since he is just two points instead of type-b and maybe go to Stork from Bisu and upgrade Fantasy to Flash, but that's just me!
