1) When you are drinking an iced beverage the ice completely blocks the liquid. You try turning the glass but it never help.
2) Surprise cobweb to the face. Don't you hate when you are walking in an attic and you get the infamous surprise cobweb to the face? Makes you feel dirtier than 5 dollar hooker.
3) Old people on computers...like when you tell them to double click something and they do two reeeally slow single clicks.
4)Sticky floors of public restroom. What the hell, why does it always feel like someone dumped a bucket of pepsi on the ground.
5) Trying to spread frozen butter on toast. This happened to me this morning and it sucked because when I tried to spread the butter it kept putting holes in the bread.

I wish you guys were open minded enough to at least entertain the idea. Most people who responded had a very poor understanding of how broad the community of actors are. Anybody you see on television...that was my point...just watch tv....and stop talking about denzel washington and other hollywood actors that make up 0.0000000001% of actors.

6) When tape is on the ground or anywhere (for whatever reason) and one corner is up and its covered in dust and you just know that over time it will peel up and get more dust and never re-stick, but I have OCD so that's prob just me =]

I think overall, black people are better at acting than whites. They are more likely to be natural and not overact, a common behavior in poor acting. Now I know there aren't a whole lot of black superstars in hollywood, but the majority of actors aren't big names. The majority of actors do television or small commercials. These are the people that have 30 second clips in a subway commercial, or bank commercial, or really any commercial.
I guess we cannot possibly conceive that depth and realism that exists in a black actor enjoying a Subway meatball sandwhich, or the gripping enthusiasm shown by a black person who saved a $1 atm charge, as opposed to a white actor.
Give me a break.

I just don't understand why I'm running into so much hostility? The people I talk to in person about this disagree with me yes, but after they start paying attention to it they have all come around...and that's all I really was asking for....aristotle said the mark of an educated man is to be able to entertain an idea without accepting it.

Dude, many, many people at this site go/went to a top 10 university. You're fighting a losing battle; eventually someone with much better "credentials" than you is going to waltz into this thread and lay the smack down.

You are running into hostility because you have not presented an idea. You have presented a generalization.
If you wish to present an idea, you need to tell us why you think black actors are better than white actors. Give some evidence, give some proof, give some reasons. Otherwise it just looks like you are painting two groups of people with a broad brush, and that obviously generates hostility.

manifesto, this is my 7th year at a university...and I'm not looking down on people. I may get a little testy but that's only because I have a flood of people insulting me rather than discussing the topic. I just want friendly, mature, discussion that's all

I give my reasons, which are that imo, they are less likely to overact...and that's like the biggest indicator of a crappy actor. I also begged people to at least try and watch TV with this idea...only because I have told so many people about this in person who disagree at first but then come around.
