Does it sound like a professional mix? ie can you tell it's just a humble home recording done with about 1k worth of gear?

Its sounds really professional actually, and even if its not perfect the small differences in it would make it more original sounding. have you written any songs? Also what programs and shit do you use because I want to record some stuff as well with a drum and bass track etc but i am not sure where to start. metal ofc

I did record during the summer regardless using an m-audio interface, but it was my first time really recording and I had no idea what I was doing. The three songs I recorded I recorded all in one take with no post-production or anything. I have some lag when I try to overdub, and I'm not really sure how to fix the lag problems because I'm such a noob with the whole recording thing.

Alright, I'll look that up. I probably won't have time to record until next summer, but I'll look it up for future reference.

I have a line 6 amp, does that mean that I can hook it up through that interface (the firepod)? What does daw mean? Do you know anything about reason?

You can hook up your line 6 amp to your computer via the Firepod yes. If your soundcard doesn't have audio ins like mine does you'll probably have to go through Firewire, which a lot of people do. @ Snet, tirentu, quirinus: Thank you very much! :D
