Its too based on hits, not a really good approximation but the site is probably worth over 100k easily, for example: http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.liquidpoker.net

liquidpoker while having 1/10th of the traffic tl.net has, its much more profitable because a hit in a poker site is over 10 times more valuable than a hit in a game forum site.

you probably cant ever sell the site because the users/staff make the site what it is. buying the site = being the boss, which means they have some say in the content. and since the staff aren't employees/aren't paid, they dont have to comply

unless.. selling the site just means that someone can say they own the site but have absolutely no power in what happens within the site.

I have a feeling they assign an arbitrary $ amount to page views and they use this to calculate the networth. The $/hit amount is probably some average what a hit is worth if they loaded up on the ads.
