If it's a scam he will insist on asking you to get one. ..huh? Yeah, I know that it's a better idea to pay for one, but he's just really looking to save some money, and as long as it's a middle of the road laptop, he doesn't really care as to specifications.

Alright, I'll just hit up craiglist, since the consensus opinion seems to be that this is a bad idea. I'd assumed it was, but I thought I'd check anyway. Thanks.

Using French does not make you intelligent either.

From what I hear, some of the sites are legit, but it's generally not worth the effort of doing offers you may not care about (and paying for them), getting other people to do offers, and waiting for however long it takes to ship the damn thing (possibly months). EGM did one of this things to get a "free" 360 (I think) a few years back, and they said that it was a pain in the ass, but doable. They signed up for so many offers that they created a calendar so they knew what day to cancel (if you cancel right away, for most offers, it wouldn't count), then they had to pay shipping and wait 3 months for it to show up. Bottom line is, I'm sure you can find a semi-legit site if you look around enough, but it's probably not worth the hassle, and your boss should just buy a laptop flat out. Edit: Just googling a bit, I found http://www.notebooks4free.com/ and it's pretty much exactly what I said it's like. You complete 1 offer, and refer 18-24 people who do the same. Some of the offers appear to be free/on the cheap side, so I guess if your boss is willing to drop a few hundred bucks, he could find 24 people he knows, and offer to pay the charges for them? Can't say with 100% certainty that the site is legit, but people on a few sites have said they've received items from it. So take it for what you will.
