Supposing the higher the number the badder the artosis: 10.
Anyone who manages to lose with arclite cannons, nuclear weapons and 75 mineral units with 3 splash damage weapons that get up and run after you is terribad.

any lurker opening. "Man style" hydra/lurk zvt "crazy zerg" which is muta -> skip lurker hive -> ultraling.
Bout it as far as viable strat/bo's go.

offbeat builds are more common on that level as oppose to standard safe play because those players are so dangerous and so well versed that it usually takes some kind of map favored tactic or mu favored tactic to gain a win. Unless the player is so far in advance like Jaedong who will literally pre 9 drone scout to look for proxy or cheese.. these are things that you as a foreigner don't need to employ or emulate but can take into consideration when regarding these players.
I prefer to play an offbeat style. Not because I am so far in advance but because it is fun for me. That is why I am a mechanical slob who doesn't win consistently in tourneys.. sometimes I catch fire and do really well and other times I get shut down.
If you are looking to be a great and consistent player you want to work on the basics before getting to the more advanced stage which is intelligently employing less than common bo's /tactics.

incontrol why did you say to me that you were going to do "man style" hydra only zvt vs A2 in TSL Ro48 then chicken out and go standard? i was really disappointed.

Well that is a good question actually cause I think it speaks volumes to what my psychology was during that match.
Man style is especially good on a map like longinus where with 2 lurkers you can secure a 2 gas expansion fairly easily and that is key to man style as having lots of lurkers is really gas heavy in addition to the mass hydras with upgrades. That map favors that style given all the high grounds and the previously mentioned dual gas natural. That was the plan going in to the match! However I had never played an online tourney with the magnitude that was TSL. TLT2 was big, biggest at the time, but it was nothing in comparison. Getting A2, a seasoned and dangerous opponent first round of the biggest online tourney I have ever played actually managed to rattle me. Something I pride myself on being immune to. I fell back on old habits and relied on a lurker opening (if I remember correctly) that was aggressive and fast and risky.
That can actually be applied to my epic concluding game vs him on zodiac. I love ultras, don't get me wrong, but to avoid conventional play and go right into ultras was a risk i shouldn't have taken. But even given the fact that I did, I should have waited when he did that first push until my upgrade was finished while only really suffering the loss of a few sunkens to smash it to pieces with my ultras. A lot of "what ifs" but I attribute that to what I discussed in reply to your question!
I could have it wrong.. I cannot remember what map I won on but I was pretty sure I lost on longinus for that reason.

Inc, how long did it take you from being a campaign-playing noob to being recognized as a "good" player?

I played the campaign for maybe a month. From there I started to play 1v1 games with my friends via dial up modem. Then we went to bnet and played the ladder.. mind you this was back before hacking and the worst thing people did was disconnect.
I was "kinda" good at that time.. nothing special in the community. Got 1500 ladder rating which put me in the upper levels of legit gamers after about a year of playing. Joined a clan called "DA" and started to get noticed.. after a few clan movements for around a year I eventually created {88} with Stranix and from there it is all history
So to answer your question about 2 years before I was considered publicly anything "good."

incontrol ive always had a question in the back of my mind about your game but never remembered to ask it. Are you aware of what you are doing all the time? Do you know the consequences of everything you do? Like all the builds, the risks, the consequences you are taking? My whatever level judgement tells me yes but sometimes I wonder when you suicide like 10 groups of 0-0 lings into 10 well microed 1-0 zealots. You're definitely one of the most creative players I've ob'ed/played/watched but sometimes I wonder if your style is intentional or well planned. Whatever it is I've definitely learned a lot from how you play and I do enjoy/admire your style.

What's the most points you've ever gotten in a single turn in Scrabble? Do you read the TL news posts? If so, who's your favorite writer? Do you/have you read the TLFEs? If so, who's your favorite writer/what's your favorite FE? Who does the best Power Ranks? On a scale of 1-10, how awesome is HonestTea? Favorite childhood cartoon?

I am definitely aware of what I am doing 100% of the time. Problem is, sometimes I am aware that I am being lazy. That sounds like an excuse, but it is true. Sometimes I somehow go into lazy mode and just literally don't make that 5-6 sunk wall at the expo KNOWING I need to. Sometimes I just group and "a" at the enemy KNOWING I could do more with some control.
I do it LESS in important games ie cw's, tourneys, money etc.. but this STILL forms bad habits which hurt me.
