1. Right click your file that you want to split, click on add to archive 2. Bottom left it says "Split to volume, bytes". They have a couple of presets that you can select, basically this is how big you want each part to be. Winrar also recognizes abbreviations like "M" for megabyte and K for "kilobyte". So for example if you want each part to be 650mb then you type "650m" into that box and press ok. 3. Winrar will now make a copy of your file and split it into as many parts as it needs to be. Obviously the last part is usually going to be less than 650mb. 4. To extract the file from the parts, put all the parts into the same directory, open any one of them up, select the file inside and click extract. | ||

Surely there are also GUI tools for that task but I always use the "split" command in both Linux and Windows. I'll give an usage example later (and where to get it), it's really not hard. Gotta go now. | ||

I like this one since it creates the recombine program automatically, so you don't need any special software on the other computer. | ||
