It was not until recently where fan protests and a general attitude of mass depression in the Korean fan community for STX when faced with the excellent fan meetings organized by some other teams that STX’s attitude towards fans began to gradually change. Coaches are now allowing meets under certain conditions (often related to winning scores.) and it is rumored than Hwasin recently brought out bottles of soda for the fans. STX is currently the only team who asks fans not to give presents or letters. I believe this is the coaches' ways of trying to "protect" their players... esp the gift or letter part... I mean how would it feel for a player if he had no real fan-base and therefore never got anything while July over there was getting millions of gifts and letters? (though at least in the gift part I do not think fans would be that unforgiving, probably would give a gift to every one in the team knowing korean culture and how we operate)

I've heard it was because of the traditional attitudes of the STX shipping company that these strict rules were put into place, but that of course is only a rumor. It's relaxed a lot more now though and STX have even begun giving out their yearly fanbooks free to fans at more recent line up style meets. (I managed to snag one off of Hwasin and they're really nicely made.)
