Secondly, this album just crushed me. Simply forced me to listen to it whole the time. It has strange, melancholic amtosphere that makes you feel like driving at night through empty road. It's not like music itself is too deppressive or sad. "Son of night, brother of sleep" for instance just emanate with emptiness, showing that life is shallow (that's just my feelings after listening to this particular song). Similiar thing is relevant to other songs (I watch you fall, Nobody wants the truth).
Musically we have here post-rock, a little metal sounds, ambient, trip-hop and what not. Song composition is good enough to keep you entertained. But what really makes this album so great is mentioned atmosphere. I listened to every song countless times and each and every time they were equally great. It's a must not only for post-rock fans but for all who like good music.
I can't believe they started as black metal band...
