I heard that a lot, why? They don't lose progress if you step out of them so you can play the encounter just like you would the other ones: run in a circle.

Sure there are parts of my play that would boost my overall performance much more, but the first few waves with 2 circles far apart... I don't know. Just feels wrong. Later waves with 4 or 5 circles feel better and more often than not I activate the Circle-Ultimatums but then I'll pull out early.

That could be it, yes. With 2 circles I do an elipse or if they are very far apart I try to stay a bit longer in one and then teleport over very quickly. Gives a few free seconds in the other one most of the times. Also, the circles indeed feel bad indoors with walls/doors and bridges especially.

Any op builds have emerged yet that require to click 1 button and almost never die?
|
I don't enjoy Ultimatum mechanics at all
|
i won't say it's super OP or that it doesn't die but the Elementalist - Exsanguinate build from Mathil is pretty good.
i did a kinda copy of is build and so far it's going really well (currently in T12-13).
Pretty good for all content including the Ulti mechanics.

Sounds good but I heard it falls of hard in later maps

well, just did a t15 without any issue :|

I agree, Ice Trap is fine with less links. I added Life Tap for now so I could drop the mana flask until I get my hands on the gloves. I haven't thought about the enchants to be honest but I think they can roll on all abyss jewels, which means you can get stun immunity just from the belt slot now. :o For now I'm using the ranger nodes in addition (they are decent anyways) but it's something to think about and fiddle around with later.
I ended up using the Scion+Shadow one. However, I found out they nerfed The Vigil as well (down to 8s) which is trash. At that point it's not worth it to get the strength jewel I think so I get 4 more points to spend. If I reroute below shadow instead of up I would get another point and then I get access to some nice clusters between shadow and ranger. The only reason I routed up was it gave me a lot of free int and I didn't have the points for any of the clusters between shadow and ranger anyways. For Fortify the alternative is either shield charge or vigilant strike. Currently I'm experimenting with vigilant strike (+faster attacks+fortify support) as I'm in the face of the enemies all the time anyways. It needs melee strike range for sure. Will see if it is enough to feel good...
Have you found a good Fortify solution yet? Still not running it (though levelling some gems in the off-hand); I took a page from Tarke's Vaal Arc trapper and swapped out Vitality for running Eternal Youth; that for sustain + Enduring Cry/life flask for burst seems to cover the life costs pretty well. Wish I'd found an evasion 6L. Could possibly switch out Dash for Shield Charge but Dash's inability to be slowed/hindered etc is pretty useful. Bit annoyed this is the first league in a while that I'm not running something that can DPS while I run around (RF/Wintertide Brand), ha. Ice Trap's so good for bossing, though. Slowly pushing into red maps after grinding out atlas completion, still trying to get Architect's Hand/relevant Vial from the temple.

I leaguestartet on Flicker and well... It went better than expected (i totally expected to drop the build at yellow maps) but in the last 2-3 days (about 7 hours of play) Its annoying as fuck because well, its flicker.
I'm at 85-99% (no kidding) exp from lvl 90 to 91 since like 5 hours of play because you just die to random bullshit, it doesn't even matter if the map is T9 or T14/15 (whiteout any bad mods), if i do ultimatum or not.... Sometimes I just randomly die and i seem to have hit an unlucky streak... It's extra frustrating because the one thing i really need is more passive points and i hope to get 2-3 more.
/rage
But when it works it's pure awesome, sometimes you clear a map "accidentally" by Flicker just deciding to do the perfect jumps :D.
If you just want something to generate currency in yellow maps, I can't recommend flicker enough. If you want to do more.... Get ready to spend some serious dosh.

I wouldn't call it good but I think I'm going to stick with Vigilant Strike for this build. It takes a bit of getting used to but I personally favour the duration over range and as I said before I'm often close to enemies anyways, running through them etc. I get 15s atm. and with a 21/20 gem I think it will be ~20s. Tbh, my setup is more of a meme atm. running a 4-L with Vigilant Strike, Fortify, Ancestral Call (feels garbage without) and Faster Attacks. I will drop Faster Attacks once I get my Uber Lab (onslaught effect nodes) and a 3L is fine investment for what you get imho. I'm also running Dread Banner and a Replica Heartbreaker in my off-hand to get 100% increased fortify effect. Currently that's fine because the damage is still ok but I will probably move the heartbreaker to my second weapon slot later on and do weapon swapping at the beginning of the map.
Is Architect's Hand+Vial something you can reliably achieve in SSF? Sounds like a pain tbh. If you are looking to find a 6L I would look at the Exotic Goods node (Tirn's End) and do Ultimatums. I got quite a few from those.
Tbh, regarding socket availability I think PoE is in a good state atm. I like that you have to think about what to take and there are a lot of great utility options and you have to make a choice. I find it utterly boring if a game allows me to bring everything. On this topic I'm a bit worried about PoE2.

I played flicker strike on metamorph league until level 94. They had just introduced the conquerors and The Saviour sword (before it was nerfed). Playing with The Saviour, Paradoxica and Farruls armour (reduced duration on aspect of the cat) was so fun. It obliterated maps (and bosses at the end).
Flickering is fun but it is something I would play after several leagues, I got fed of it at end.

I also noticed the random deaths and I even went Raider and went for full defense with both dodge, spell dodge, evasion, fortify and 200% life... and yes dying starts from T9 up to T12 now. I have been trying to get from lvl 89 to 90 for hours and no luck lol.. one loses will to continue.

My first 5 trials were all Burning Rage. Guess it's a good thing the new system is in place for me this league.

Parked the Ice Trap Raider after I dropped a Death's Oath & a Cane of Unravelling and rolled a dodge/evasion DO Occultist - super fun/smooth for Ultimatums/delving/Heisting/mapping with a lucky Anomalous Withering Step.

Is that with or without clusters? Dropped both aswell but I'm staying on my rf-inquistor for the the moment as most comments on reddit/poe-forums stressed that the damage is too low without Clusters. Think I have one base but I can't really roll that right now as I'm lacking alts.
Kinda interested in a fire burst build right now but for the cheapest build I found/feels achieveable in ssf I'm still lacking Malachais Artifice so I'm just leveling a few gems for that one in the weapon swap slot.

dam, I don't know what to do now.
I wanna start a new character but i'm torn apart between doing something with flicker strike or something like cyclone coc with cospri.
Any suggestion for either of those ? Edit: nm, going flicker raider
btw, a little update with my exsanguinate elementalist... it rock. Almost all content done. Only the 3 hard invitation are left to do with about 140/160 of the altas done. If anyone wanna seem it: https://pastebin.com/gNmgN1WU

In the "thinking of next leaguestart" phase after taking it easy this league; mucking around with a Siege Ballista accuracy-stacking Jugg as I had a few of the pieces in SSF. Doesn't work without the Ritual boots, obviously; trying to figure if there's a vaguely similar build you could level with as a Jugg (a steel skill? Petrified Blood/Bloodthirst RoA if you have a Doomfletch drop? Non-accuracy-stacking ballista totems taking notes from Heirophants - maybe Shrapnel due to flat damage per level?) while farming Haewark Hamlet or whether it's a pipe dream. Edit: Think I can adapt a Champ Toxic Rain Ballista build to Jugg without too many regrets on the switch, tbh.

Anyone still playing the league? I'm still playing but at this point it's mostly to keep me away from other stuff. I got my Ice Trapper to 95 and it feels super tanky and fast. Damage is a bit lackluster now but ultimatums are so easy I can almost pick any mod and don't even look at it. The exception is when those robot spider thingies spawn. They are annoying as fuck on a trapper. However, the Trailmaster is a different story. Failed both encounters on that char... I also got my VGS Champion to 92 and it feels very tanky now as well. I saw the Trailmaster 3 times on him and only failed the last one because I got too cocky, got caught by a chain and one shot. Tbh, sometimes I think it's pretty ridiculous how much damage you still get when you build for tankiness. I just died to a single random blue baran mob who bursted me down in less than a second. That's with 7,1k life, fortify with 130% increased effect, 77 all res, 90% phys reduction and literally no damage mods on the map. Yeah, I didn't move because I didn't expect that but come on... I could tank every single attack by Baran on that map without even going below 50% health... I honestly don't regret to have moved to SC. That and the fact that now 50% of my deaths are due to massive lags/disconnects which almost never happened back when I played HC and my internet was much worse back then.
I think I need a third char for simple mapping. The trapper is great for Heist and Delve and the VGS is great for bossing but both just feel ok for mapping (aside from ultimatums). No idea what to go for though.
