Alch and go seems to be enough to sustain once you reach critical mass in your map pool. If you are not into crafting, you want to convert all the currency you make into chaos, then chaos into exalts. Not using zana mods is fine, but you want to keep the prophecies filled and seal away the ones you don't want. Run with scarabs/fragments if you are doing high tier maps. One thing I learned from all the previous leagues is farming speed > everything else. The quickest and most consistent way to farm in this league is only doing the monolith in T2 glacier, because the monolith always spawn at the starting area of that map in a huge open space. This requires you to un-finish all other T2 maps and shape all the T3 maps connected to glacier to sustain. I eldered my glacier map and only run T16 once I get the elder influence next to them. I find myself accumulating a lot of guardian maps and have been selling them in bulk at 15c/ea. P.S. Having too many extants could mess up the spawn location of the monolith. If you are looking for efficiency, don't use too many. Thanks for the inputs!!! I would go with the first part probably , which is "don't buy chisels and don't use Zana mods" , I don't feel like running glacier non stop is for me , I can manage a delay in income if I can just play variant content , not into min/maxing the returns on my time , I could never load a map do a monolith , log out and go again , just not for me although I understand your point that it has the best returns. You can also chisel only T16s and run T14/15 with alch and go once you run out. My map is 156/159 completed and I found chisel for quality is no longer necessary. You do want to ping pong the elder/shaper influence if possible while running them.

Well, it's tough to compare any melee skill with Cyclone as well. Cyclone lets you be tanky (moving all the time, Infused Channeling) and doesn't require targeting while still being having decent to great AoE depending on the weapons & build used. There's a reason it's the most used skill gem this league.

Yeah I've chiseled less than ever this league. I also like running zana mods now and then when I'm bored, same with sextants, but honestly, alch n go has never been more profitable. Monoliths dominate loot, it's harder to open up your profit margins by investing more, even if you have the cash to do it.
Ez alch n go league. Been a blast. Even without setting up atlas for glacier or whatever.

I have played this league more than any other and probably had more fun as well. This is due to getting more maps and loot than in any other league. For a player like me that likes to try out new builds and don't like excessive RNG and grind it is perfect. I even left money to GGG to get more character slots (as I don't like to delete my old fun builds in standard).
I don't know how this new loot explosion league works for GGG (in amount of player retention and $ spent on stuff) but it has been great for me.

Yeah, map sustain & general loot has been ridiculous this league; sitting at about ~30 Elder Barrows in SSF despite running them + Shaped Volcanos pretty frequently - not just extra mobs from monoliths but Delve/Temple of Atzoatl etc has been really rewarding. Mainly hoping Jun turns up in maps/on the atlas tbh, as I'm still trying to get the Vagan & Elreon veiled mods & +1 curse on chest as well as various white sockets/Mortal frags/Leo slams; been trying to seal my Kalandra's Craft prophecies for interrogating Vagan/Elreon/Catarina but no big windfalls yet.
Finally found an il83 Elder Judgement Staff, so I've got it to 30% quality, crafted quality onto it and have been sinking fusings into it to try and get my second 6L of the league before alt-spamming for L20 Fortify then multimodding; only at about 790 into it so fingers crossed, and it's nice to grind out Loyalty cards in Barrows while hoping to highroll Pride of the First Ones (3/7 so far). It's almost a good map for monoliths, but there's a surprising amount of ledge-y terrain obstacles compared to Burial Chambers. Oh well, at least it's not as bad as Shipyard or Tower for them.
Trying to grind out 36 challenges; current bugbear is getting T3 Throne of Atziri in Atzoatl - have had countless T2 Hall of Lords, a decent amount of T2 Hall of Lords next to T2 Sanctum of Unity, and most recently a T3 Temple Nexus upgrading a ... T1 Royal Meeting Room into T2 Hall of Lords zzzz

Yep, been using that technique for the past few leagues where there have been specific challenges or recipes I've needed, but no dice - even had one temple where the first room was a T1 turning into the T2 I needed; skipped the other two incursions that map ... and obviously never got the chance to upgrade it to a T3 over the next four sets of incursions, zzzz.
(Also, for the record, this has been the worst league I've had for Omnitect uniques - 90% String of Servitudes, 10% Soul Catcher. WTB Tempered Flesh / vials :/)
Levelled a Vaal Ice Nova character to 72 and put it in mothballs while I worked on trying to farm him up a Carcass Jack, but it's a bit of a pain the div card is boss-specific loot - ran all the Channels/Underground Rivers/Chateaus I had stashed, but it's hard to "juice up" those drops short of twinned bosses, whereas even a low drop rate non-boss card in a map you can feel like you're achieving something by using sextants/scarabs/Zana mods/rolling juicy maps, etc.

That moment when you easily crush Minotaur, Phoenix and Chimera (all corrupted but with pretty weak mods) to then have the following happening:
Try Hydra for the last fragment and Atlas Bonus, the Mods aren't too harsh (attack speed for Monsters and vulnerability iirc). Because the other 3 Guardian maps were a piece of cake I just open the Legion and get plenty of Symbols --> 3 x Instadeath while trying to kill them. 2 x Instadeath while trying to just run past them to get to Hydra. /whelp, fuck Maraketh and their teleporting.
A bit later and pretty stoned i wanted to do Mino again, i checked my Map for ele reflect and -maxres but didn't really read. Minotaur Instakilled me 3 times, then i just left him. After finally "really" checking the mods, well it was kinda the "perfect storm" of a map if you just want to buff a Guardian...
That was with 6k HP, 5 Endurance Charges and Granite... I know i'm not the tankiest char but both of these felt plain ridiculous.
I iirc didn't die once from lvl 88-90 and then this happens :D

Yea I had these maps with instant kill legion. It happens every 20 maps or so. Crazy. Also I had to respec my facebreaker zerker and get rid of Abyssus and get Flesh and Stone and started using Berserk to survive Legions in red maps in other 19 maps :D

The map had vulnerability and some crit mods I think. I also died 2 or 3 times to a ghosted Phoenix on the same char. You can't disrespect the Guardians it seems

Yeah Legions really prepared me for a lot of the endgame compared to previous leagues. If you're able to red map and either survive (or just get used to) the crazy rippy legion combos and extra rares, then it makes transitioning into Guardians and Shaper/Elder that much easier. I thought it was just because I got more currency faster, and therefore better gear than previous leagues, but I think this is also a part of it. Having to build your character inherently tanky and safer just because of the league mechanic makes all the usual stuff feel much smoother too.
|
"Inherently tanki" is a nice way of underselling the damage legions can do when you open a few too many rares and can't offscreen them
I like the league and having it dangerous is fine, but sometimes its just plain overkill.
|
Yeah, I feel like this is the rippiest league since pre-nerf Breach. Betrayal was close, but they didn't off screen as much and are easier to track on your screen. atm I skip any legions T13+ if there's any damage mods, which feels bad but can't afford death xD
I'm kind of curious how they will implement the league into the core game. The jewels are one of the sickest things in a while, really hope they keep them around. The beauty is that even if their supply becomes much smaller, you just need 1 then you can divine until you find something.

I died a few times fighting legion mobs from rapid life drain, even after using life flask with bleed-immune. Any idea what's causing it? It's happening too fast for me to read what was happening.

Doesn't Staunching flask remove corrupted blood now? Or do you have too many unique flasks to fit all the suffixes in
Edit: Ninja'd. Dunno what other degens are big with legion honestly, probably been playing with too much leech to notice for the most part
|
I have a lot of regen and usually don't notice it much except for a few rare instances, maybe once every 30 maps or so. It happens very quickly after I kill all the mobs around me and there's nothing to leech from. I tried to use staunching every time to stop it and it does not work.
I think there's a sound effect when you lose the bleed stacks the same way with other stackable charges, I don't hear that either when using the flask.
|
Are those maps cant leech or cant regen? I'm going to try and pay attention for debuffs later
|
I don't run can't leech red maps, those are pretty easy to spot since the life and mana roll together in two almost identical lines. At least one map I died in did have a no-regen mod, but the flask should have worked...
I'm at 97 now, dying randomly without knowing what's happening is getting pretty frustrating.
