We are proud to announce that TeamLiquid.net and Liquipedia will be joining forces with MasterLeague.net! Master League is considered one of the best databases for professional Heroes of the Storm and features a complete collection of professional matches as well as a news portal to keep up with the happenings within the scene. In January Master League was put up for sale, and it seemed like a no-brainer for us to jump on the opportunity.
Master League regulars need not worry, the site will continue to function as the go-to statistics site for competitive Heroes of the Storm. We're really pleased to announce that SlapJackNpNp will continue in his role and keep the site updated. TL is fully committed to preserving and building on the core values of the website. In time, we will be adding a few new features to bring out the best in the site.
Front Page Updates
Master League has always been first and foremost a source for statistics on competitive play, and it will continue to run that way. The LiquidHeroes writing team will begin contributing articles to Master League and will eventually call the website home.
This year we hope to implement the following features;
Liquipedia Integration
Liquipedia and Master League track very similar information. Over the coming months, we’ll be using each website's database to update the other one with any missing data points. Both websites will continue to do what they excel at; Liquipedia will continue to provide an easy to digest snapshot of a tournament while Master League will be able to give you every statistic you could ever want. We’ll also be exploring how the two databases can complement each other in a wider sense.
Return of Master League Challenge
We’re also pleased to announce that the prediction challenge will be returning to Master League for HGC Phase 2—and yes, there will be prizes! For those of you more familiar with TLnet, the prediction challenge functions a lot like Liquibet. Keep an eye out for more details about the prediction challenge closer to the start of Phase 2.
While some of our plans need to be kept under wraps for now, we hope that this insight will give you confidence in our mission to preserve the spirit of the site. We’re really excited to be continuing the legacy that Master League has created, and we hope that we can continue to serve the community and live up to your expectations. Please send any feedback about the website our way. We’re very eager to hear it!
