They were for a project during my senior year of high school where we had to make a creative presentation about the digestive system. Originally these were just poems, but I figured that wouldn't be considered creative enough, so I tried fitting the lyrics to a couple different songs I had on my computer and this is how they turned out.
So without further ado...
The Small Intestine
(Background track: BK Love by MC Sniper)
Lyrics:
+ Show Spoiler +
So then the food enters the small intestine
Diameter's less than the large intestine
The first twenty-five (cm) is the duodenum
The rest is the ileum and jejunum
From the stomach comes the acid chyme
Carb digestion continues at this time
Proteins, nucleic acids, and fats are digested
Hopefully you've ate something and haven't just fasted
There are these little things to absorb the nutrients
They suck things up like some elephants
It's full of finger-like projections called villi
It's fractal-like, made of smaller microvilli
These microvilli are covered with brush border
Enzymes: maltase, sucrase and lactose in that order
All of these are acting on disaccharides
All of these are producing monosaccharides
Villi have lacteals that absorb digested fat
It goes straight into the lymphatic system, that
will drain into the circulatory system,
and then the rest is history
The intestinal glands produce enterokinase
Trypsinogen to trypsin, a wonderful kinase
Tight junctions are used to hold cells together
Making sure there is no leakage whatsoever
Chylomicron, a huge lipoprotein particle
Moves lipids to adipose tissue, oh how radical
Released into lacteals, created by absorptive cell
Secreted into the bloodstream, isn't that just swell?
The Gall Bladder and Large Intestine
Background track: Hana by Orange Range
Lyrics:

Gall Bladder:
The gall bladder, linked to the duodenum and liver
The biliary tract holds these two connected forever
It holds onto the bile when food is evanescent
It then releases the bile when food with fat is present
Oh bile~
Bile is that really putrid yellow stuff
It doesn't taste good when the going gets rough
Bile is a salt, a steroid compound
Taurocholic, deoxycholic acid are found
Cholesteral is another main part of it
It can gather and become a lump of s***
This can end up as a gall stone and jaundice
Another side effect is pancreatitis
Large Intestine:
The large intestine can also be called the colon
And hopefully this part of you won't be stolen
It's the intestine from the cecum to the rectum, yo
It collects water from the feces going through, whoa
And no Emily, the rectum is not excretory
It's the digestive system, end of story
The rectum connects the L.I. to the anus
It's not a crime, so why do you say it's heinous?
The colon has bacteria that are symbiotic
If you take a closer look its definitely chaotic
E. Coli is just one example of the many kinds
That chooses our feces as their find to make a life
Feces definitely have a ton of cellulose
And other undigested stuff, you don't want to get too close
That's the digestive system in the human body
Wasn't it fun joining in on the learning party?
