[M] (2) STC - Cerulean Fall
It's been a few months now since I last created a map. I did come back to do various map touch-ups in TLMC 9, but otherwise nothing until a 3 weeks ago or so, when I started this map. Working on it during weekends in my free time, I collected a lot of feedback from fellow mappers, and I've had this iteration for a week now. Admittedly, much of this maps inspiration comes from AVEX's recent map Sovereign, (Somewhat layout, mostly aesthetics) but I did change up the color scheme. Initially I made the map simply because I wanted to make something that had appealing aesthetics, but of course, I figured I might as well complete the map once I had decided what aesthetics I was doing. Now, it has came to this over the last weeks, consuming the majority of my free time. Hope you guys like it + Show Spoiler [PS] +AVEX, I hope you don't mind me mimicking your TL thread format

Tileset Note: + Show Spoiler +A number of the textures have modified normals, and Aiur4 Xelnaga5 is a texture using a diffuse not used by existing default textures

Damn, lots of good maps coming out these days and this one ranks among the top The only thing i'm afraid of is that the path from one natural to an other is so straight that the players won't bother using the rest of the map too much for their army movements

Indeed, similar thoughts from myself as well. Current thinking is either the center needs to be redone, or, I increase the positional significance of the center high-ground bases by increasing size or reducing center choke sizes to encourage usage of the other parts of the map.

So many cool aesthetics these days. I feel like most maps are kinda the same though.

@lorestarcraft Yeah, almost all my maps follow the very basic expansion pattern that Overgrowth displays. Still, that is only a piece to how maps play out. I don't really know how to make a map play differently as a result of the execution of the center very well though, and it's something I hope I can become better at.

The texturing of the Natural is very deceiving, why not make it like all the other highgrounds? Looks nice though

Updated the thread a bit late, but I did update this map for TLMC. Fingers crossed I get a finalist!

Considering monk uploaded a copy of this, your odds should be quite good (unless something's changed from previous TLMCs I think it means that Cerulean made it at least to the final cut before the finalists).

Yes, I agree. If this does make finalist this is something I would work on in iteration phase.
