I was supposed to move in yesterday, but the loser who was the previous occupant of this apartment decided to stay (wtf?) for another day, so I had to spend last night on a fellow RA's couch.

Anyway, she finally got her stuff out of here and cleaning staff came in, did their stuff, etc. So around 6PM I was able to start moving in!

For those who don't know what's going on--I'm on RA for the summer, so I get my own 1 bedroom apartment! Read my previous blog entry for more details if you're curious at all.

The batteries on my camera died so unfortunately no photos of the walk-in closet or the bathroom. And yes, I have two people's worth of furniture in the bedroom.

For summer. I think being an RA would be cool, but during the year I think I would just get pissed off by it. That being said, if you're still living there come October, wanna let everyone crash at your place after Blizzcon?

i'm only here at the apt for the summer--i'm moving into dorm-style housing next fall as an RA for freshmen.

and besides, i can't be an RA and have a whole bunch of drunk guys hanging out at my place lol.

what do you mean you get your food paid for? the college gives you free food? Or you mean they reimburse whatever money you spend on food?

they give me a food stipend in check form for $160 every 4 weeks.

That is almost exactly like what my college apartment looked like senior year. It was very nice... although the guy I shared it with kinda had issues... (for example, he'd sleepwalk and eat my stuff in the fridge... damn wrestlers...)

do you not cook your own meals? it's not really an opinion, if you ask anyone who has their own kitchen and doesn't eat out frequently, $40 a week goes a long way at the supermarket. for example, a $4 box of cereal and $3 gallon of milk can be breakfast for about a week, etc.

ps: you can't really say "95 cents per meal" when you're talking about groceries. it's not like a restaurant, food costs don't work that way.

That bed, desk, shelf, and wooden chair are exactly the same ones Georgia Tech used in their dorms/apartments. I hated the keyboard tray on that desk so much...
