It's his style. He's not an analyst. It's actually a bad combo because it's 2 color commentators and no analyst. I've seen Valdes get a lot of praise for his casting, but I am not really sure what he actually offers. His game knowledge is average and he isn't that good of a hype caster either. He does have a solid voice though, but still. At least he's not promoting foreigners all the time. I've seen Polt vs. someone games and that was awful. All the time praise for the foreigner with "and Polt is good too". It was annoyin as hell. Do the yreally need to do this at foreigner only tournament? Valdes has a great voice, knows how to speak and offers a balanced point of view, like you mentioned. he also specifically talked about how he had watched a lot of VODs of the foreigners in this tournament to get an idea of their playstyle and where they're at, while everyone else seems to just kinda be winging it. this is already a lot more than you get from most sc2 casters, regardless of his not-stellar game knowledge (but i think there are worse/more obvious offenders here as well). the fact he doesn't get super hype doesn't bother me as i don't really like the shouting anyway.

We need a series that goes to the decider match, we haven't been treated one since the ro8

Considering how Polt beat Nerchio and FireCake... I think Snute has more of a chance than you might think. Polt's still the favorite, though. He's a monster. Polt's gonna 4-1, then dedicate his win to the TL PR. I mean. PR was pretty accurate. #3 went out to #18 and #4 went out to #9, but look at IEM Toronto- #4 went out to #13 and #3 went out to #16, but nobody memed it :c At least at Toronto the finals ended up being 1 vs 2. Also I don't remember the TL PR getting called out on stream all the time. Sure, but it was also a pretty easy finals to guess. Who would've predicted Snute making the finals this time? I predicted Polt vs Snute finals, though couldn't post it because my computer died 3 days ago. (not joking)
Yeah right. I did exactly the same, but I wrote it down on a piece of cloth that I hid in a tomb somewhere in Jerusalem roughly 2000 years ago. But when you tell that to the kids, no one believes you.

whats the big deal with 'foreigners' beating 'koreaners?' Dont polt and Hydra get the same type of practice environment as everyone else in wcs ? Or are they super natural because they are koreans?

America can even win against any top player. And I am sure, this will be a very entertaining series, finally no ZvZ ... Who are you and what have you done to Diabolique? :-P That does not change my mind about the welfare system :-) But I believe, Polt belongs to BlizzCon and if one single foreigner belongs there, it is Snute, even in the normal system.

Years of training and experience just doesn't disappear because you suddenly play on a different server.

The winner get 3000 WCS points and a ticket to the global playoff. What are the points good for in the end, the ticket to the playoff is already secured?? Seeding in other tourneys except the global final?

Valdes has a great voice, knows how to speak and offers a balanced point of view, like you mentioned. he also specifically talked about how he had watched a lot of VODs of the foreigners in this tournament to get an idea of their playstyle and where they're at, while everyone else seems to just kinda be winging it.
Yeh, and this is my biggest issue with most of the talent in this tournament. There is barely any real analysis at all, it's more like "yeh that guy is always good, he always performs. or "not as good anymore, but still good".
If anyone watches the LOL analysis, you notice a gigantic difference. Everyone has studied the teams prior to the tournament. Know their weakness's, and strenghts. Talks about win conditions and the mistakes they made during games. For me that makes it a lot more exciting because you learn about the playstyles of the teams, and you get interested in seeing how it plays out during games.
Valdes did seem like he prepared the most, but it didn't feel like he could translate the preparation into "real" analysis. For instance, you know how Snute likes to play ZvT. That's great, but you need to build some type of story after that. Like what are the potential weakness's of that style? What are the opponents win condition/lose condition?

maybe for once, the final may be better than the semi finals

The match is actually worth 30'000$.. 10'000$ come for free with a BLIZZCON spot for free even if your not winning 1 game..
