Basically, 4v4s are really frustrating with typical fastest style newbie players. Since you're playing in person, just have a group huddle with your allies, and tell them to fucking rush with you. If everyone rushes one player, and all your opponents are just sitting in their bases building static D, none of them alone will be able to kill a combined attack. That's how team games are played by successful people. Even if one or two are still living and have gotten their tech up and going, with 2-3 more players on your team, you WILL win, and the rest of their team will realise how boring it is to watch their teammate slowly lose their mass scout army or whatever bullshit they've been making in their base for 10 minutes while their allies were dying.
Team games are about team work, 'doin ur best not 2 die in the first 5 minutes by massing cannons'.
Also, you should request your turtling opponents change their names to Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michaelangelo (the shredder joke made me lol XD).
PS: If you can't convince your allies to grow some brains and start actually trying to win the game, just do weird and wonderful strats involving fast arbiters and crap.

If one of ur teammates a zerg, and you KNOW that ur friends are gonna be turtling, can't you just rush guards?

you cant get very far with mass 4v4 newbs sorry. just be the best guy in the game win girls and fame then send me my welfare check.

actually just use the classic carriers=instant win strategy if they are turtling - they probably are not attacking so all 4 of you can tech.. you can save the money you would invest into static defense and use it to buy flagships, probably nothing cant stop mass carriers from 4 players (ok, perhaps storms+emp+plague, but that's theorycraft)
in addition, if your rush fails, you might actually lose, if they decide to use the flagships (happened once, when we played a 3v3 at tl.net, 3 tosses somehow got owned to firebats and lost like 30 zealots (ppz vs ttp) while the protoss opponent went cannons->carriers..)

This is quite possibly the best reply I've ever seen in the strat forum

It will get any turtle and normaly lasts the whole game with a few added hatches. Also I like to play standard hunters strats against people who play 1:1 or fastest style until they learn that it's not how you play hunters. That or they get pissed off at me and refuse to play anymore. If they are "bad" enough you (alone) could beat two of them in ~6min or so with just normal hunters play. I can only remember doing that in 2:2 tho but the map is the same. Favourite toss build is 7zealot-->goons with stopped probes at 15.
Hmm should not post when I'm this tired.

4vs4? if all of you and your allies come to one damn well-defended turtler, easy to break his neck if you all 4 just send part of your army and keep other part defend your nat... Take intiative, that 's the point

LOL
As others have mentioned, teamgames are about the early pressure. Ganging up with rush builds and avoid getting countered is the key imo

It's been a couple days now, and I still laugh every time I see the title of this thread.
