had a female friend who was a gamer and shes the kinda girl that hangs around us (a bunch of guys) and acts kinda tomboyish. she normally plays mmorpgs but sometimes will play some rts. Then cuz we always talked about sc she asked for a copy and started playing it. We all gave her the benefit of the doubt and played online and we told her things like use hotkeys and dont wait till you have 300min to build a rax that costs 150 etc etc. then one day we're at a party and decide to play some lan and she sees us playing and she goes OMG WTF U GUYZ ARE SO FAST WHATS THE RUSH? tsk tsk tsk girls...

That's pretty funny. At least she can share your hobby with you, unlike the majority of people in Western society and culture who view video games as nothing more than an absolute waste of time.

Just ease her into the faster modes.

That's actually a pretty impressive insight.

A lot of new players miss an x8 feature, so they can simply wait while their >1SCV/mineral harvests enough to get their 1Starport BC army going. At least she she seems to realize it is important to actually do things quickly.

The best RPG-UMS I have seen for StarCraft. Probably invested about 40 hours total into beating that goddamned map, but it is good fun, even for people who are not into StarCraft.

My dad played all Starcraft and Brood War campaigns on slowest, beating them all. Send out the army, repair everything, send it back out. He's destroys me at anything turn based, but real time just isn't for him I guess.

The final Brood War missions are pretty hard, I'm glad he beat them.
