"fails bigtime" in this case means playing a sick series against one of the best terrans in the world and barely losing. Get lost I tend to overhype Maru sometimes ^_^ Ought to know that by now... to be frank, Life failed pretty hard in game 6. he should have won that game but overextended. i was pretty angry with him Are you saying Life lost, not Dream won? I'm pretty sure every game where "Life lost," Dream just outplayed him. Dream made Life over commit and that's a sign of a good player.

There's no way this finals can live up to the hype of those two semifinals and the could-have-been Life vs Maru, but who even cares? Both of these series were better than most finals can hope to be. I remember someone saying "Dream was splitting his Marines into groups of one." Don't that just say it all.

I'm genuinely so happy and impressed with the quality of the Starcraft I've been watching lately. I haven't been able to watch as much as when I was unemployed, so it just makes me treasure it even more.

The level of play is incredible since there is a lot of player able to compete at this level.

Do we just count the semis as the finals and ignore the grand finals, or are these two gonna make it interesting? Based on their tendencies I see many games ending before 11 min, but hopefully I'm wrong. Maru has a 70% win rate in TvT iirc according to aligulac.

Maru is not trash in TvT, and while this is certainly not Dream's strongest MU, he has shown now that he can be sick in any MU when he trains for it (see the 0-4 in TvZ, 2-0 TvP in GSL followed by 3-x TvP and 4-3 TvZ in NSSL). Honestly I'm not a fan of TvT at all, but these are two very good players and I think that we can hope for at least 2 good games among cheesy TvT shenanigans.

I'm pretty sure every game where "Life lost," Dream just outplayed him. Dream made Life over commit and that's a sign of a good player. Dream made the best out of Life's very minor misjudgements. I'm seriously impressed with Dream's micro, his splitting is really something else, I don't think even maru's splitting impressed me like that. He regularly splits to large marine groups to single marines, it seems that banelings are never cost effective vs him. that said, life should have won that game 6 anyway. he was like 40 supply up and should have regrouped/rethought his approach and win easily. he certainly seems to be ahead of the crowd mechanically and dream doesn't seem to be better than maru/innovation. that game 6 life definitely lost more than dream won.

Then the next week or the one after that, he played Cure in Proleague and tried that again, but Cure shut it down completely. I'm pretty confident the series will never reach the point where they'll do an air transition or something.
