Due to the life blizzcon clause of 2014 this counts as a korean tournament due to being only korean players despite it being on non korean soil. Also the finals was based off a long prep tournament which also qualifies it as a korean tournament.
His MLG's may also fall under this clause but cannot confirm He won MLG winter arena and winter championship. Both full of foreigners. In the winter arena he played Huk in winners finals for god's sake lol. If MK's MLG's count then so do Life's anyway He beat the recent GSL champ DRG though who won a kr tournament. Which makes MK a kr tournament winner by proxy. Life is a 5 time GSL champ because he beat Mvp that one time and stole all his trophies Lets play 6 degrees of starcraft and see who's the worst player we can make a 5 time GSL champion. Ooh this sounds fun. Probably Inca :D
Adelscott beat MVP in TLS. Just sayin'...

For me personally, the series I watched between Dream and Life showed me that both of them are top-tier players right now, not that one was on the rise and one was slumping simply because one won and one lost.

And if only photon overcharge was retooled, so you had to work harder to defend like you did in WoL, Rain would distance himself even further ahead than everyone else.

Loss =/= throw I know, right? Every loss is a throw and every win is luck. So every match is someone getting lucky that the other person threw? Certain people use that reasoning to explain away every time their favorite player loses. It can never be that the player is just not that great; but always that they got unlucky.
It's an argument that is valid and true sometimes that some people use all of the time, sometimes errantly.

But then again I thought Life would demolish Dream why would he crush Maru? they played a poor yet close series in this tournament already and historically have a close h2h record. Dream beat Maru 2-1 in early Feb and Maru 2-0d Dream a month before.

Accoring to Aligulac Life had a 85.2% chance of beating Dream, so there is clearly no way that Maru is going to win with only an 84.8% chance.

Dream beat Maru 2-1 in early Feb and Maru 2-0d Dream a month before. Maru was also having serious wrist issues at that exact time. I think he's had some treatment since then, and may be on pain medications for his wrist (the bandage I saw on his arm in GSL recently looked like it could be a narcotic patch, a chronic pain relieving medication that delivers the medication every hour, for a week, which I'm sure he could get and would be appropriate because wrist pain severely impedes his ability to perform at his job. And there are narcotic pain patches that would be able to sufficiently treat his wrist pain, while not impeding physical or mental aptitude at all, or causing addiction [namely, buprenorphine]).
And it can be placed anywhere on the body and have the same effect, since its analgesic properties work in the brain, obviously (by transdermal release and then travel through the blood stream), so he may be being treated with one and we wouldn't know.

"fails bigtime" in this case means playing a sick series against one of the best terrans in the world and barely losing. Get lost

I feel like the gap between crushing your opponent and barely losing is pretty big.
this is what high expectations do.

Dream played quite great. Was wondering how he would do after getting 2-0'd by Rogue and Solar recently.
Very impressed with his quick reactions, marine splits/positioning, and overall micro.
But not sure what the hell happened in that game where he got a bit of a lead and then tried to push with Thor-Hellbat-Banshee with a few tanks thrown in... that felt like a throw, he got utterly decimated when he tried to push out across the map. Dunno if that was because of the horrible positioning in the first big engagement where he got crushed, or if he just missed his timing window because of waiting too long. That looked so bad I have to wonder if we'll see Terrans keep trying this against top zergs who know how to respond to this once they see it coming... Life obviously knew how to counter it and it wasn't even close.
