Still think the map is fucking stupid though, it's central gimmick of a collapsible path down the middle never comes into play and the top left and right quadrants might as well not exist. Fuck this stupid map. I agree. In addition to being a gimmicky map in PvT, it has got to be the worst PvP map I have ever seen. Way too many places to hide proxy gates - anywhere in the gigantic main, or in the natural, or outside the main ramp. On top of that, the main to main rush distance is so short it is possible to make the gates even quicker, on 8 supply. Easily my least favorite map of the season (although Inferno Pools is giving it some close competition).

It might not be the most imbalanced, but it encourages turtly play above all else. Games on that map will be really really generic in all matchups. As for the other maps, I don't like inferno much though it hasn't been played on a lot. Secret Spring and Expedition Lost look like fun maps, though they might not be very balanced in some match-ups. We'll have to see how they turn out.

To your credit, the original statement that it's only beaten by Alterzim in terms of size was correct. What about calm before the storm?

And Secret Springs, re: Zerg trying to defend against 2 base with 3 bases? Nonsense, they can simply all in themselves... died to a baneling bust on that too. Fun all around! I think Vaani is the only map I've really enjoyed playing so far. I did have some fun games on Inferno Pools, including a 52 minute PvT epic. But in general, bleh.

Well if we follow Ret's reasoning it's a very good map pool for P players with all the inbase naturals^^

However, the difficulty of taking the third means that the opponent should just know you're going to 2 base all-in. Thirds taken should be late and off the back of a significant army, but I don't know how feasible that is with the way people are currently playing. We'll just have to see.

True, but 2 base all-ins might be a little easier in PvZ on these maps, so hopefully that works out. I'd expect to see protosses lose a lot on these maps.
