http://www.zuffainvestoralerts.org/2014/12/will-zuffa-breach-its-loan-covenant-at-the-end-of-first-quarter-in-2015.html no idea if this is good or bad. the tone of the article is negative. but, i dont really know what will happen if they breach this loan covenant thingie. they try to make it sound ominous though. and it does look like the UFC is in "money raising" mode as they increase teh PPV price for the 1st 3 months of 2015. http://www.mmaforum.com/ufc/191633-ufc-raises-price-announced-2015-ppv-events-despite-dfws-promises.html

Yes January is a good month for the UFC both on viewers, gate and PPV sales (it took a brawl in a hotel lobby to get there). It goes to show how shitty 2013 and 2014 were. How well is the ufc doing given that Anderson Silva gets a title shot with a win over Nick Diaz or Mcgoat with a win over Siver? Or that Rory got a title shot taken away (temporarily) from him in favor of a rematch that would do more buys. The UFC is clearly going towards entertainment to generate money because they badly need it. The reebok deal might be big (no one knows) and who the hell is going to buy reebok gear lol. Edit: Figure skating did better than UFC on fox.

Unless the bank has a sweetheart deal with a competing organization I doubt it would be in their interest to be dicks about the loan. MMA isn't getting smaller in the long term and the UFC isn't even close to losing market share with anyone. They will have to pay a bit more on the loan than they originally planned and things will go on. Worst case someone else steps in and covers the UFC for a small premium. It's just silly to think they would go bankrupt or something (unless it was part of a hostile takeover type plan). Even then these Vegas hardened Zuffa guys scored the UFC on some shady dealings so I doubt they would be so easily out maneuvered by anyone. If you aren't a direct investor in the UFC I don't think you have anything to worry about when it comes to their financials. After Paq-Mayweather all those boxing fans will have to watch something anyway haha.

i think the last time this happened some Fertitta family member had to give the bank $50 million to get them to agree to keep going with the rest of the $500+ million loan going. it just sucks that with money so important to the UFC that it clouds title shot decisions as was pointed out by CorsairHero. if short term cash were not a concern Anderson Silva would never get a title shot at MW ,and Rory would've gotten a title shot at WW

Not sure the financials really put enough pressure to change outcomes. Righteous story-lines and progressions through the ranks have never really been a hallmark of the UFC or the fight industry in general for that matter. I doubt the fight lineups would look a whole lot different if they were in the black vs in the red.

Pretty sure technically if properly healed that part of his shin should be as strong as before (which wasn't quite strong enough). I would be surprised to see anderson throw any low kicks with that leg that have any force behind them. I love Diaz though for fights, the guy never gives up and has some of the best Cardio in the game despite fighting so heavy.

Based on how he's been acting it kinda seems like he won't do his usual talk in the fight, which is gonna feel weird. The bitch calling is all part of the authentic experience of a Nick Diaz fight.

Yeah he said he wasn't going to, but if Silva starts to dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge it probably wont take long for Diaz to get pissed and start talking. Thank God UFC had the sense to make it a 5 round fight. A 3 round decision would be so anti-climatic, at least a 5 round decision should mean there was still a decent fight.

I have it on good authority that Nick Diaz included Portuguese lessons during his training camp just so he could shit talk Silva in his native tongue, "não tenha medo, mano.*" (*No idea if that actually means what it should mean. and JK of course.)
