+ Show Spoiler [Week 2-2 Games] +
Four games in each group have been played, but the Round of 8 picture is still very murky. Demon's Forest has a week left to haunt this OSL before it is replaced by Fantasy II. Veterans are flailing and rookies are proving their mettle yet again. Lets take a look at how each group is fairing.
Group A
1. Jaedong (Lecaf Oz) (Seed) 2-0
2. Sea[Shield] (MBCGame HERO) 1-1
2. BeSt (SK Telecom T1) 1-1
4. sAviOr (CJ Entus) 0-2
Is there a much bigger story than this? Despite having the backing of 658 liquibet voters, Savior continued his terrible performance on Katrina, making his chance of advancing into the next round extremely slim.
This week has Savior vs Sea and Jaedong vs Best. If both Sea and Best win, or Savior and Jaedong win, then there will be a deadlock, otherwise either Sea or Best will advance along with Jaedong.
Group B
1. Stork (Samsung KHAN) (Seed) 2-0
2. Rock (WeMade FOX) 1-1
2. Flash (KTF MagicNs) 1-1
4. Rumble (SK Telecom T1) 0-2
Rumble has failed to impress so far in the OSL, having lost both of his games on new maps. Meanwhile, Stork is looking strong to advance to the next round. This week Rock will look to continue Rumble's losing ways and solidify his RO8 chances, while Stork tries to end all KTF hopes in this season's major leagues.
Group C
1. Luxury (OGN SPARKYZ) 2-0
2. July (SK Telecom T1) 1-1
2. Bisu (MBCGame HERO) (Seed) 1-1
4. XellOs (CJ Entus) 0-2
Although it came more slowly, Luxury is slowly but surely solidifying himself as the stronger twin in this OSL. He trounced Xellos on Blue Storm and will be a forced to be reckoned with whomever his opponent.
As for the rest of the group, Xellos' resurgence has dwindled with barely a whimper, but he will have the chance to spoil July's golden mouse bid on Troy. As for Bisu, he holds his destiny in his own hands in his best matchup. Hopefully this final week of group play will show more of what the map of Troy is made of.
Group D
1. Much (CJ Entus) (Seed) 2-0
2. FrOzean (Samsung KHAN) 1-1
2. YellOw[ArnC] (OGN SPARKYZ) 1-1
4. BackHo (Lecaf Oz) 0-2
Old Man StarCraft is rolling through the relatively weak competition in his group. His toughest test will be this week against Yarnc, but the map will be in his favour. Look for him to cruise into the next round. If Frozean, the surprise Terran, want to join him, he will have to solve the Katrina mystery against BackHo.
Make sure to follow all the standings in GrandInquisitor's Results and Standings thread. Also, dropping yakki a PM to say thanks for the VODs is also a worthy use of TL bandwidth.
Next week Plexa will be joining me to cover the friday OSL games. Welcome to our new writer!
