And I know what characters say isn't fact but Law himself said DD was no match for Kaidou. Kaidou is known as the strongest creature who has an army of devil fruit users id say its safe to say hes currently the strongest Yonkou but Law was also confident that DD could do enough damage to him that he and Luffy could finish him off so there must be a comparable level of power

One Piece's anime isn't as well animated as it was before. Even back when it was 4:3 in East Blue, it was really damn good looking. It's just not as good looking anymore.

At least the manga doesn't have to do those kind of things.

Way too much. It has become boring, they do everything just to fill up time. At least the manga doesn't have to do those kind of things. Well it's not really the pacing I dislike. If you're not limited by the end of the story then the pacing is fine really. I don't watch anime every week, rather I wait 3 or so weeks and then watch 3 episodes. It's just that it's visually inferior to what it was before, especially Nami for some reason. Maybe Nami's the benchmark or something. There's also the visual effects (blood stains). It's just not as fleshed out anymore, the overall drawing has been over simplified. I don't doubt that it will get better over time but it's a shame they had to get a dry spell during one of the sickest arcs yet.

One Piece is produced by Toei, and they aren't exactly know for good animation. They probably won't shell out any money for the fights until the end of the arc, if that. OP Anime brings in huge rating, so they can get away with the level of QUALITY they provide right now.

I wouldn't say that, considering its one of the highest rated anime every single week. It pulls in like a 10% TV Rating, which is absolutely massive when compared to almost all other anime. There is like a half dozen that can compete with it, like Detective Conan and Doraemon, but its a small number. Most anime talked about in the Anime Discussion Thread, for instance, pulls in maybe a fraction of a percent, on average?

A little off topic, but Detective Conan's anime quality I feel has remained pretty top notch even after all these years. It's probably just easier to deal with that kind of manga where not everything is always fast paced.

It's no wonder since many Anime viewers don't read the manga so they keep watching it for further progress. But imagine if they'd actually put effort in the anime - OP would shatter records like crazy

But imagine if they'd actually put effort in the anime - OP would shatter records like crazy no it wouldn't. You'd need to quadruple that 10% rating to beat Sazae-san's record of 39.9% and then even more to "shatter it like crazy." You're insane if you think only improving its animation quality will suddenly cause it to be getting ~50% ratings. I don't see it improving more than 1 or 2%, and even that's pushing it.
