Set 3 vs soO: Advances army onto creep. GGs shortly thereafter. Set 2 vs DRG: Loses every single SCV in natural to a simple ling runby due to a hole in his wall. Set 3 vs DRG: Doesn't scout and ends up slowly dying. Remember lichter's description of what Flash's style of play was like before/after IEM in the featured article? Before, it was "I need to do damage to win" and during IEM he went with more of a "If I live, no one can stop me" style and was very successful. This morning it felt like he went back to his "I must do damage to win" mindset that has cost him so many sets in the past. If you look at the last game he played vs soO in PL, Flash played remarkably more patient and never stepped onto the creep unless he severely won a fight, and eventually whittled soO down. Today he played very aggressively - probably hoping to bulldoze his way to a win after gaining the early game advantage and made some really uncharacteristic mistakes and questionable push outs. I'll have to watch the VOD's later, but here's some things I noted: Game 3 vs DRG he set up on that plateau outside DRG's 4th which was nice, but instead of rallying reinforcements to the 3rd to secure it against any sort of counter, he rallied ALL his reinforcements to that plateau; probably hoping to kill DRG's 4th right then and there and end the game. However DRG hit Flash's 3rd and took it out, slowing Flash's advance just enough to crank out enough banes to defend the push. Clear loss from a lack of patience from Flash. He also didn't scout in this game, which would have led to an instant loss had DRG decided to just 1 base bust him. He does his cookie cutter build and DRG capitalizes on his lack of scouting. Game 2 vs DRG killing the overlords was nice but I felt the better decision was to force an engagement near the 3rd. Flash also flubs his wall hardcore and that pretty much snowballs the game for him. If he had that sealed off I think he could've had it...but nope, lose all your natural SCVs for the oldest zerg counter in history... That's all my sleep deprived memory can recall for now.

You're right. It is an insult to Maru to name Flash in the same breath.

No one from his era, except TaeJa, is even close to as relevant as he is. He's made the round of 8 three times. January of 2012, June/July? of 2012 and September 2014....... Honestly, look at his results from February 2013 until he won Red Bull (~1.5 years) and if you compared those to any Code A player, and didn't say what results belong to whom, you probably could not tell the difference. I understand people are upset about Flash losing (I like him too) and I understand people are probably annoyed with how I only talk about DRG lol, but his run this past month has been nothing short of incredible.
