teamliquid。

Me: I never saw you in 2013's WCS. Were you too busy that year or did I simply not see you in any of the WCS Brackets?
Toodming: I don't like the idea that staying up all night to practice online. Last year, I gave myself a year long plan to regulate my schedule in order to improve my physical fitness. I decided to give up some tournaments to make my body condition and habit are the best. Now my goal has become a reality,.because i had pay more attention to rest last year,I failed Season 3's WCS. It was a little sad. But it's OK, this year I can win and come back!
Me:If you could change anything about SC2, what would it be and why?
Toodming: If we were talking about all things related to SC2, I just hope China can have a regular tournament as same as SPL. Because in this way it would be more favorable to us, more focused on being pro gamers, And to give greater tournament to everyone who likes watching SC2. As for the racial imbalance. I think it's ok as long as there are certain rules, I do not care about which racial is easier to win a race
Me: In Summer 2013's NeoTV Star League Tournament, how did you feel after you beat Jim? Jim has many western fans.
Toodming:When I won, I was, of course, really happy because Jim was GM Ranked 1 at that time. Furthermore, he beat many Koreans at international tournaments and very few people felt I could win. But I had already shown more than once that I can beat koreans competitor in a tournament, and just like that- it was the truth, although he did look stronger than me. I like it when other people are not optimistic about my performance but i let them surprise,i like making suiprise.
Me: Which western team do you think is the most formidable?
Toodming:Team Liquid. It's quite obvious that their most outstanding player is Taeja. Also Hero and the rest. You could say they are a all -star team
Me: Rumor has it that a lot of Chinese LoL players have been residing and competing in America. Do you think China will have eventually have an SC2 player that is willing to leave the country and immigrate to America to be a professional SC2 player?
Toodming: I think immigrating to America to be an SC2 pro is not that realistic. I think short-term would be ok. I went to America in 2011 when Blizzcon took place. Long term, I think living in America would not be suitable. Because you can not enjoy the excellent Chinese food in other foreign countries. Even though some times you might want to eat a particular food in China, you may have to go to a particular place to get it. As you can see, food is a matter that Chinese people find difficult to overcome. Also, let's not forget the cultural differences. I think immigrating to live and settle down abroad takes a lot of determination. It requires you to leave your close friends and you have to adapt in to a new diet and culture.
Me: How do you prepare for tournaments? How do you feel in the minutes leading up to a tournament?
Toodming: Because there are very few Chinese competitors, I generally practice on the [NA] ladder. Imagine the strategies that my opponent might use and i practice for it in advace on the ladder. Before a tournament, I might feel a little bit pressured or a little bit nervous. A few minutes before I won't have any particular feeling, maybe I just didn't rest well and I'm still sleepy or maybe I didn't eat right and my stomach hurts. But generally when the competition begins I get my head in the game.
Me: How did your pro gaming career begin? Could you explain that to us?
Toodming:On August 8th 2008 the Olympics Started [in Beijing], and so i began my career. That was for Brood War. Afterwards I transformed my battlefield to SC2. My original plan then was to retire, but I still had the ambition of being a pro. Under the excitation of my friends, I embarked on my journey to SC2.
Me: Besides SC2, do you play any other game?
Toodming:I've played something others, but very little. Starcraft requires a lot of practice time. If i just want to take a break, then I would rather go home and simply watch TV.
Me: Many people on Reddit think that getting your APM above 1000 was pretty strange. When you played in WCS Challenger league, how did you get above 1000 APM?
Toodming:You only need a very short latency keyboard. Plus comes with the release of StarCraft 2 skills left into any key on the keyboard on it. Honestly, Scarlett is always using this as well, but i just learned from a friend of the trick this year. I'm hoping that WCS will tell massive players about this trick.
Me: Do you have any poor relations between you and a non-Chinese competitor?
Toodming: I'm not familiar with any of the non-Chinese competitors, so my impression about they are purely base on the news and programme. I only know what kind of players I don't like. i don not like the wretched and lowly players . The only player I like is IdrA, but of course he is retired. Even though IdrA frequently loose his lips,But I like his courage, I think to say those words so radical also need some courage,. To some extent i agree with some of his claims. Even though they were just some kinds of complaints, anyway some of them are true.
As I post this, Toodming is now fighting Scarlett on Frost LE.
EDIT: live report with toodming after he advanced to the Round of 16.
Me: Toodming!
Toodming: !
Me:How do you feel now? Do you have anything to say about the Round of 16?
Toodming: Very nice. I didn't think it would be that smooth. I've been practicing a lot lately, so I was under a lot of pressure, but now it's all been let go. It took me one year's time to get to this tournament, so I feel so relaxed now.
Me: What about the round of 16?
Toodming: I still have time to practice. I am fully confident about the Round of 16. But about the Round of 8, I don't know. I'm not fully confident in my overall abilities.I prefer the match against a fixed number of players, not like o play a lot of games a day.I have to be 100% confident... maybe I won't do well later. because of the jet leg and maybe I won't be strong enough to win. I think the best result may be the runner-up . But this all depends on the practice in this upcoming half of the month. I think if i can achieve a breakthrough win a champion is not the problem. But an objective analysis is just like the way ahead.
