Gretech announced that Gomtv and Wemakeprice have signed an MOU for a marketing partnership.
The partnership will start with sponsoring Gom Calssic Season 4.
Gom exp android app will be the one and only broadcast platform for the tournament, and otherwise, fans need to watch VODs which will be uploaded three days later.
wemakeprice is a social commerce company, aka "위메프".

afreeca actually gets a lot of mobile viewers, but I thought part of that for sonic was that anyone could join the main channel via mobile but there were the slot limits on the PC viewers (hence why sonic would have like 5 channels of 600 people for broadcasts). That was a few months ago.
Still, I have to imagine most mobile viewers are not watching a whole 2-3 hour broadcast on their phone, even if the raw numbers for mobile viewers sometimes look pretty good.
To break away from the current wave of sighs and disappointments for a moment, there is a new piece of information regarding the GOMTV Classics S4 if you have access to the GOM Exp android app. There is a banner when you open the app that says the Grand Opening Match of the GOM Classic S4 will be on air at 2 p.m. (assuming KST) on Sunday (2/16), which is not terrible considering the European and American time zones.
Perhaps there is a bit of positivity in all this after all regarding the biggest step for Brood War in 2014 as of yet.
God damn it, well I guess they will have their way and I will download this stupid app to watch it, although I've been more and more sick recently of being forced into using certain platforms. Ah well.
What could be the other way? Have a code that no one spoils results and there will be an official TL stream casting the vods when they are available? :/
Why couldnt GOm just use their GOMplayer, they use for starcraft 2? If they want to avoid mainstream options like twitch that bad.
