Part of the reason why I like Urgot is because I think his kit is really unique and cool, so the idea of a rework makes me sad. They're going to rework him to not be as unique and then he won't be cool anymore. If urgot gets reworked RIP yellowpete's career/ his major comeback. yellowpete's career was RIP'd the second rito hit urgot's kit with the rapehammer of nerf.
Now only a broken shell remains. (both of urgot and yellowpete)

I want lux to be popular again because I had just oh so much fun when I was spamming release zed vs all the luxes. The days of no one banning zed in conjunction of lux's popularity early in S3 was truly the greatest thing.

If we're talking "elegant" design, really Riot just needs to go back and review some of the rules in the game that were added for reasons that were only specifically relevant at the time and now have no meaning because the way people play the game has changed. The prime example of this is the oft-referred to XP bonus for two champs sharing lane XP. The only reason this existed was to attempt to make 2-1-2 viable, but this is no longer a design goal. As it stands now, there's not really a good reason for it to stay in the game.
Honestly, most of the weird armor pen/damage scaling rules for tower damage probably fall under this category. They were made to address "issues" where people felt ganks/sieges were not punishing enough against a team that chose to dive the tower, but honestly the way people execute those things has changed so drastically since those rules were added in the first place that if you stripped all of those out and just simplified tower damage to be as simple as possible, it would probably be fine.

Good to see TLGD alive and well. First it was having turret armor increased for early game only, was inelegant. Adds odd conditional change based on time that isn't intuitive. Everything else in the game gets stronger as the game goes on (minions/baron/dragon/champions/jungle camps), but for turrets to do the opposite is not intuitive to the rest of the game design. 2nd change was to remove bonus armor, to add -20 auto attack dmg to top and middle turret only. Reduction of flat damage is not intuitive, since it's another layer of calculation. Also added map asymmetry, specifically designed to lower specific strategy. 3rd, now adding another layer of complexity by making the damage reduction time based. Effectiveness != elegant reminds me of kids writing code using full of if/and statements. sure it worked. but sure as fuck wasn't pretty to read.
elegance of code basically has a lot to do with its efficiency though. in terms of game functionality having inelegant changes like this doesn't really negatively affect gameplay.

Hey, you grave-digger! At the time I was still playing stuff like Morgana, Swain, Irelia. Lux was somewhat close to Morgana in how she relied on skillshots, and I was freshly 30 so not playing at the same level (I enjoyed skillshots a bunch, reason why I preferred Sivir or Ezreal as AD carries).
Now? I just reroll when I get Nidalee or Lux in ARAM.

They're going to rework him to not be as unique and then he won't be cool anymore. That sure sounds like that's a complaint about Riot's design philosophy behind champions. I read that more as a tentative hipster impersonation. Almost every non assassin mid laner can do this.In fact lux is not that good at it because her e can't os the ranged and has a long cd. The important part is "with my own pool of champs". ;p Realistically, Lux and Anivia are still way better match-ups for Viktor than Zed or LeBlanc (who hopelessly crush him) or Diana, but I didn't see them as much, nor have they been around for as long, plus just because you have to try to stay alive (compared to "get hit by the 10th stray binding thrown randomly from 1100 range away and die") it makes them more interesting to play out.

Lux definitely in the list of top ten list of champs who can go die in a hole. It was a crap time to be a mid laner when she was super popular.

Journal of Justice Since the Journal of Justice has been out of publication for a while now, we're removing its link from the client. While the JoJ will be missed, we're exploring future storytelling methods for League of Legends. The lore tab (aka the feather) has been removed from the front of the LoL client
Damn. I knew it'd happen eventually, but RIP Riot's lore department ;;

i think they gave up on lore when they started to rewrite the champions backgrounds.

I wasn't aware statik shiv crit proc'd independently of auto attacks before. Don't think it'll change too much, but nice clean change, also, thank god for that Perseverance change.
