Also Banshees are slower so you might only lose 1 or 2 extra scv's if you miss them, not 4 to 5 extra like with oracles. Oracles cost more investment with 300 gas with structures instead of 200 like banshee but it's power level is so much higher. And cloaked banshees cost about the same and are not quite so gamechanging. Banshees have 19.2 dps, oracles vs light are 29 dps. It's quite a large difference

If Protoss made 4 cannons at each base, we wouldn't need nexus cannons, would we? That's a ridiculous analogy for two reasons. 1. Where you choose to invest your resources in the early game is far more important than the later game (because you have less economy). If the Protoss is investing all his money into a proxy oracle, then you need to act accordingly and not half-ass a defense. If you're looking at an *eventual* medivac drop, you already have a mothership core, stalkers, and ideally a cannon or two. The medivac drop comes much later than a proxy oracle, so you don't have to spend as large a percentage of your money on new defense because you already have some. 2. The proxy oracle was being used to attack a mineral line. It does essentially no damage against buildings. On the other hand, a medivac full of marines is dangerous to not only mineral lines, but buildings as well. This makes mobile defense more important against marines than against oracles. Two turrets by the mineral line is enough to make an oracle useless. Four cannons by a mineral line (which is far more of an investment anyway) is probably not going to defend your whole base. And even still, with all the whining, Innovation still won ^^

If you do a proxy build which can win games, but it get scouted early on, the opponent should be able to win with 5 minutes as long as they not make a huge mistake. Otherwise, the risk reward is just not there. Innovation did win >.> And his mistake was not making enough defense around his mineral line, so he let the proxy oracle in to do damage. And that still only delayed Innovation's win by a few minutes. I just don't see why people are complaining about the fact that Innovation didn't insta-win when he didn't react perfectly to the proxy he scouted. He still won pretty quickly.
