AMAZING decision making to get an oracle after two phoenix, and then having the control to make the bait work. Well done, Parting!!! I wonder how much that break contributed to him coming up with that.
He still hadn't scouted blink before the break, so I don't think it was a factor. Certainly he faced stargate x blink in practice before, it was likely a pre-planned tactic to overcome the BO disadvantage. SKT playoff preparation and all.

Any bets on what cheese Hyvaa goes with? I wouldn't be surprised if SoO whips out the same build as last night. It is the same map after all. Hyvaa might hatch first into two base all-in.

Implying baiting units away from the worker line for your harass unit to do damage is a difficult strat to come up with I'm frankly surprised Dear fell for it.
I'm not, Dear is known for boneheaded mistakes like that.

Switching out of the scouted phoenixes to an oracle because you know he won't have a nexus cannon. No way he goes oracle there normally, he'd straight up die to blink stalker with a robo that late. I'm sure he could've come up with it on the spot but the break certainly makes it easier. He also probably knew he was likely up against blink as well because of the mocore scout.

Shouldn't happen though that you are caught that off guard, as they just suck at chasing. But for now it seems super effective in Pro League when some players don't even notice one in their mineral line for a minute.

The novelty was making the oracle after two phoenix, nobody ever does that. I am sure the timing of the oracle is what caught Dear off guard when he went for the knee jerk reaction to chase the last phoenix. Plus there was the early game that lead to the MSC having less energy, just short of a cannon, which was another thing to throw Dear a bit off.
The more I think about this play, the more impressed I am with Parting. Not to mention if he lost the phoenix too early or bolted with it too fast, it wouldn't work. Great game.

Pretty sure this is a must win for STX since it seems less than likely that Trap or Classic can win.

I think he would have had a better chance being greedy with mass probes, it was 14 to 30, and making double probes to 1...parting had slow units and no blink.....Dear with mothership, nexus cannon could have held i think. But just an opinion, maybe same result.

Probably a flustered STX/dear fan, very hostile for no reason lol.
Nobody said anything about oracles being OP or lame or anything, just that they are incredibly weird and there's really no arguing that. A unit that specializes in killing workers quickly, can only attack for so long based off energy, and has additional spells to use? Yea thats weird

Yeah, there was a disconnect dispute.

stupid question: does anyone know a profound reason why we are seeing so much pvp and protoss in general in proleague, particularly compared to gstl, individual leagues and so on? is it only the mappool or are there also other reasons?
imho the high amount of pvps is really harming interest in proleague, even though pvp currently is (probably) the best mirror matchup. (which is kinda ridiculous by itself...)
