The Game
Early Game
+ Show Spoiler +
The match up is a ZvP, with Haru playing as a zerg player in the bottom left corner of Bel'Shire Vestige. The protoss opens up with a standard FFE, forge at 13 supply. Haru, on the other hand, goes for a 13 hatch. Honestly don't think that 13 is the most economical timing, since the money you need to save up actually might not be worth it compared to getting an expo at 15... then again, I'm not zerg, I won't judge that.
The protoss player scouts the lack of pool and decides to cannon rush. As soon as his pylon is placed behind the natural expansion, Haru's overlord floats over the base, and 5 drones are immediately pulled to deal with it.
Probe, you be screwed.
Haru's drones go around and about, finally deciding to target down a pylon, but the protoss places yet another cannon and pylon, making the defense look like it will be extremely close. If I remember correctly 4 drones can DPS down a building cannon in time, but I guess that Haru decided it would be best to just take out the pylon that would power it. The protoss player looks like he's in a good spot, but at home he still has yet to wall off or make an expansion... making him not really that much ahead of Haru even if his cannon rush would be semi-successful.
Oh shit why is there so much BLUE!?
A few lings come out just in the nick of time to finish off the 2nd pylon (after the first was killed by the drones) and a cannon is canceled. The toss starts building his nexus at his completely undefended natural expansion.
Both palyers transition into macro mode, and surprisingly enough Haru only has equal drone count to the enemy. He made a few too many lings after the rush was defended, precious things could have been drones instead.
Mid Game
+ Show Spoiler +
Well past the 7 minute mark, Haru still has no 3rd base. He has 2 gasses taken, and all I can assume is that he's going for a very delayed baneling all in or maybe even roaches. The protoss turtles behind 2 bases, as any good protoss should.
I haven't been turtling lately... maybe that's why I'm losing.
The protoss' tech path of choice is robo... while Haru's is mutalisks. MUTAS! OH GOD MUTAS! I HATE MUTAS! And thus I must hate Haru. He finally gets a 3rd, but this is more of a rush to the tech (on 2 bases) so that he can hit the protoss too fast to respond. The protoss doesn't seem to like to scout, since by 10 minutes he still doesn't know if Haru got a 3rd or not.
THE SPIRE!! THAT HAS SKINNY LEGS!!!
Haru utilizes his overlords pretty well by setting one over the protoss 3rd to deny it using creepspread. Once he sees the probe going to place some pylons, he runs in with speedlings and mutas to make the protoss go crying home.
HAHAHA YOUR STALKER IS NO MATCH FOR WINGS!!!
Sadly, Haru doesn't seem to harass with his mutas... That's the whole point! The protoss had no defenses what so ever and haru had nearly 20 mutalisks, he could have gone in there and made the probe count less than 0. But alas no, he just kept them stuck to the speedlings .
We got wings to fly, but lets just follow these zerglings around, it's more fun.
A small runby of zealots hit Haru's 3rd, taking it out. In response, haru sends his whole damn army back to kill them off. Well.... what can I say, platinum player. I make mistakes too.
A few zealost infiltrated Kerrigan's Leviathan? ALL ZERG ORGANISMS IN THE UNIVERSE PULL BACK WE NEED TO DEAL WITH THIS SHIT.
End Game
+ Show Spoiler +
Haru is definitely in a dominant position by the end game, especially because he continually denied the protoss 3rd base. The protos only ever sent 1 or 2 units to aid the probe, so lings and mutas kept tearing it to shreds. His army continues to center around mass stalker assisted by a lot of colossi. I suppose it isn't the worst decision against mutalisks, but if the mutas can be used correctly, that army wouldn't stand a chance at defending bases.
Ewwww only 1 sentry?
Haru's ugly army starts rolling in, going for the kill on his enemy.
Too many limbs for my liking.
The zerglings get a fairly good surround on the army, while the mutalisks go off doing their own thing and are out of position. The colossi do exceptional at roasting lings.
In a straight up fight, mutalisks get raped by stalkers. The protoss player sees Haru's mutas out of position on the left side and blinks under them, probably thinking to kill them off quickly... However, this allows for all of Haru's zerglings to get at the colossus, which was the only real threat to them. One of those times when micro actually hurts you.
Heh, microing is so good oh look there goes my colossi.
Haru is pushed away for a short period of time, but the colossus count was dwindled very significantly. With only 2 colossi remaining the rest of the stalker army is no match for the zerglings... as soon as the colossi are actually target fired, of course.
Mutalisk A-move OP.
And thus concludes today's daily! Hurray! A lot more things that were wrong with that game that I would have liked to point out (mostly economic things) but since it's a platinum game I shall let it slip... except that Haru didn't harass with his mutas. He serious has to do that, and it's an EZ win for him.
Thanks for reading as usual, and have a great day or afternoon or what not. Or don't have a good day, if that's what you're into.
P.S.
Although no longer part of their community, Phalanx continues to support DarkOnyx. They have barely any activity, but with some more love maybe they might actually get their asses working . They're a great bunch of guys, and really the reason why I could get up to the league I am now.
