So anyways. Until today I've been having a slight build-identity crisis in PvP. The only build I've used for the longest time is an outdated phoenix build from the WoL days. Other, safer, more economic phoenix builds probably exist now. So what shall I be doing now? I've found a good DT expand build to use. Yes, to some it may seem cheesey or what not, but I do believe that it has some potential to do real damage and even if it doesn't outright give you a ton of probe kills it still forces passiveness and containment.
Without further ado, on to today's game! Take it away Ernie!
Wait Ernie no, that's not the right direction! ERNIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

The Game
Early Game
+ Show Spoiler +
This being the first time trying this build out and all I actually had the build order opened up on my 2nd monitor and kept checking over it xD! The build gets 3 stalkers fairly quickly, making for a smooth transition into defense if the situation calls for it. The twilight council and dt shrine may go down a little bit slower than the fastest of DT openers, but this isn't meant to be a full on rush, it's an expand. So deal with it.
Emily will deal with it.
This also was a pretty good first run for me in that my enemy actually made a fairly fast robo in response to not knowing what I was doing!
Thou art clever, young whipper snapper!
And I place my proxy pylon.
Johnson doing his job.
So yeah, he's pretty prepared for my DTs. However, I do get a couple of probe kills in because his first observer is a little bit out of position. I don't get much done, but I do force him to be pretty passive. We now proceed into that oh-so-exciting macro phase.
Mid Game

Aw Yiss. So until the very last battle, this game was pretty harrass-tastic for me! First with the DTs. Them DTs can really deal a good deal of damage through just a tiny opening... and boy did I make sure that he paid for his mis-positioning! His killing of that proxy pylon didn't do him much good.
Livin' on the edge baby... take some kills, hide for the next chance.
Shh, he's hiding... then guess what happens when he forgets about it again!?
AW YEAH GO GET 'EM TIGER
So long tiger.
That dt did a lot better than i expected! A lot of indirect damage to his income also came about from all the time he spent running around. Because I saw my enemy going for colossus my transition turned into phoenix and tempests. The initial phoenixes weren't really intended to be used as harassment, but they ended up that way since I wanted to possibly free up some supply. Although I'm a bit too lazy to go through every single time the phoenixes got in to the probe lines, I'll just show this before/after picture of workers killed.
Before.... AFTER!!!!!!!
32 phoenix kills for those who can't math. Geez I really didn't expect to do so much damage, but what 6/7 phoenix can do in a PvP is really amazing.
End Game
+ Show Spoiler +
The end game is basically my final push... I move out with 6 immortals, 25 zealots, 5 DTs, and 7 tempests (+a few other units that i don't care about)... So yeah. My enemy had colossi and lots of stalkers, so I had both a better army composition and a bigger army in general. There really was no contest after i had killed of sooooooooooo many probes.
Le army.
I'll just give ya guys a slew of pictures in the final rolling push. <3
Tempest too good!
Aw yiss, first victory with my first try of a new build and it went pretty well. Think that this is going to become my new go-to opener for PvP! It's like passing through awkward teenage years during puberty and discovering that your popularity status in high school doesn't matter at all! Ok no I have no idea if that makes sense/is relevant at all because I've never given a crap about being popular... forever alones ftw!
Thanks for reading, leave some feedback if you thought it was good/bad, and have a great day! GLHF and see you tomorrow!
