The only other thing I remember was that, while you were doing that, you were fighting monsters (I think this was mostly, or completely, text-based) and sometimes random people would decide to join your army. I know this isn't much and I probably won't find this game ever again, but one can hope.
"Adventure" for the atari has you running around pixelated worlds looking for 3 keys, give that one a try :D
checked it, but that's not it. movement was more limited / turn based and something happened whenever you stopped. Also the worlds didn't look THAT pixelated :D
But thanks for the effort
EDIT: oh man, I typed in "three keys c64 rpg" and there you go. "Curse of the Keys" it was. Now I feel dumb. Sorry for wasting your time.
Saw this thread and thought to my self, maybe i should be ask about a game i had been looking to play again for ages, but thought better off it because i had tryed to find it before.. but low and behold 2 searches on Google and there it was. The better you get at using google the more you find i suppose, so thanks to whoever bumped this thread yesterday you helped me regain apart of my childhood
I remember playing an old DOS game from a 2000+ games shareware CD I had a while ago. The game was called something like 'Warriors of ______' or 'Knights of ______', it was a sidescrolling beat em up which featured all different kinds of mythical characters, there were giant eyes, animals, human warriors, wizards, all kinds of things. Anyway the game mode I remember playing most was this sort of Battle Royale mode where you had 64 competitors (There were a LOT Of different characters, but I'm not sure if they were different aside from the aesthetics), and you had about 8 guys on the screen at the same time, when one guy died another one would take his place.
I have been searching for this game for like... 15 years.
Played a FPS game in mid 90's about (I think). You had a massive variety of weapons. There is only 1 I remember specifically and it was this rocket launcher that shot a multitude of rockets and long range. There were hidden chambers as well all over the stages. This was a PC game. Don't want to throw people off, but for some reason the word "riot", or something with an "R" feels like it's linked to this game, dunno if it is at all or not, just a "feeling"...
I can't even remember if the A.I were "aliens" or "humans"... Think they were not of this world though ... Can't remember anything else about it, but that rocket launcher that shot multiple rockets at targets was epic! I THINK there was some kind of flamethrower as well.
A lot of the game takes place "in open air" too afai-can remember.
im searching for a PS2 game (maybe xbox). it is a 3D jump'n run game where u have a yoyo which u can use to throw at enemies or use it for example for "gliding at the ceiling". in the game there were also very small blue dragons in each level which u could trap into a white octagonal cage to get small extras (dont remember what u get when u do that, didnt manage to catch them in all levels). in the story in 1 level u were driving a rather big verhicle similar to this: + Show Spoiler +
and the last endboss had a big variety of lasers and electric fields in a circle around him which had to be disabled 1 by 1.

Two games from genesis:
1: A 2-player co-op game wherein there were a lot of bosses, the final boss iirc had an 8-pack and on the way to him you would like fly upwards/vertically. Protagonists were humans iirc, and I THINK you could have a variety of guns i'm really not sure about anything. It was really contra-like in gameplay, I guess it could be contra but i think the actual contextual setting of this game is a bit different. OH YEAH there was a dragon that was made up of many parts and youd have to shoot his head to damage him but he'd constantly go underneath the screen etc (kinda like underwater sea dragon enemy in megaman). sorry for my shitty description
Just wanted to point out that RoyGBiv_13 PMed me with the answer to this question I posted 4.5 years ago!

I'm looking for a game from my childhood which I can't remember the name of. It was mid 90's when I played the game.
I remember the story being very Zelda like (though it was a pc game). It started you of in a town where a princess was turned to stone. You were then to enter dungeons and find yourself loot/other area's to lift the curse. It was a 2d game where, as said, you had to explore dungeons to find keys/gear and venture to other towns where you could buy swords/shields etc.
It had a really nice art style too (atleast as far as i remember). It was an old floppy game.

If the "hub" had a point-and-click interface, and the fights were in an arena, I know the game, but not the name :p. Played that game to death even though I didn't quite understand it lol
i'm looking for a game, if I remember correctly you could pilot a vehicle and only a vehicle, it was a futuristic setting and I think I manned a tank, I was able to play inside a large building aswell and I think it involved lasers, it was a PvE game, not PvP.

There was this old PC game I remember playing a few decades ago, Chinese I think - at the very least it was on a cousin's computer in Taiwan - where you controlled a character that walked around throwing hammers or other objects at enemies (Gauntlet-style) which included stuff like giant spiders. I think the perspective was somewhat angled. Not sure about this but I think there was an upgrade that allowed the hammer to bounce multiple times after hitting the ground. Sorry about the lack of details - this was from a long time ago.
1. It's on the SNES 2. It's a Ninja RPG 3. You're village gets destroyed 4. You wander around the world and you meet other ninjas that you can fight or recruit 5. That's all I remember
