All right, here's one from my commodore 64 days.

I remember it being a one-screen game (no scrolling), with a top-down view. You could play co-op, and you would spawn in each your bottom left and right corner. There was kinda a maze somewhat pacman-style, with enemies roaming around that you were supposed to shoot. The maze started out blue, but the colors changed as you got through stages. Most stages had like a few mobs you had to kill to progress, and every so many stages, you'd get a boss stage with a super-fast, bigger version of the regular mob. THe only mobs I can recall right now are lions and flies. My pal and I called the game 'the lion game', but I got no clue what it was actually called.

Anyone remember that one?

This sounds cool, I hope someone figures it out.

I rather recently figured out it was Wizard of Wor. I can't recall how I figured that out - it might have been with the help of someone here on TL, but I'm not entirely sure.

It was a space shooter with a decent story. You could fly to other planets in a giant universe and upgrade technology/weapons. I remember being very frustrated because at one point during the missions, it would send you to a far away planet that would take like 15 minutes to get there, but then when you're almost there your ship would inexplicably blow up to some invisible barrier. That's all I really remember of it.

That definately sounds like Frontier: Elite 2. I remember playing it on my pal's Amiga. My game experience as far as I can recall was starting at a planet, taking off and flying up to a space station (with the same classical music that was used in 2001: A Space Odyssey going in the background), docking there, buying stuff, leaving the station, flying ahead for a while, then blowing up for no apparent reason.

I've got so many games I played when I was younger whose name I just can't remember for the life of me.

1) a DOS game where you play a commander and have to manage planets infrastructure and resources to build both a land and space army. You have to fly between planets to get the resources you need to build said army. Battles always started with a space battle where you have a lot of blips flying around on a radar to portray how the battle goes, but I don't remember you could issue any commands. The ground battles were more a left vs right side with tanks and rocket launchers. You also had to hire people to improve research/technology, fighting strength and infrastructure.

2) a DOS game where you manage a kingdom in a kind of fantasy setting. You have to invade neighbouring kingdoms in a turn based kind of game. Battles were played out in real time where you play a special hero that leads your army (like warrior, mage or archer). edit: not heroes of might and magic, that much I know; I think it's an older game.

3) a C64 fighting game (not international karate) where you have the option of playing a vs mode or a story mode. In the story mode you go around collecting scrolls while occasionally you would have to fight people (same way as vs mode) or dodge dogs/knives.

4) kind of fuzzy memories of a DOS game where you play a chess sort of game with demons and stuff.

There is one game which i remember pretty decently except for the name. basically you play as a pirate cat who has to gather a bunch of diamonds which were stolen by dog pirates. the gameplay is sort of similar to 2d mario platformers where you get power ups, have to gather coins/money and get through the lvl where there usually is a boss at the end.
Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else

Ohhh, THIS thread could help me.

I'm looking for a Gameboy (not color) game, but I only remember very generic things about it. It was a RPG, the actual combat was turn based (similar to HoMM) and you slowly gathered multiple characters in your party. What made it unique was that you could mutate your characters, but I don't even remember how exactly that was played out.

I think the name started with a "B", but welp. ;;

I once had such a CD with WarCraft I, Doom, and Descent on it... and some others that I forget D:

That being said... reminds me vaguely of Star Control II ("The Ur-Quan Masters"), but it doesn't sound quite right....

That might be it! It looks very similar.

Yeah, I should've specified that it was a 2-d game.

Nah as I said you could mutate your OWN characters. It was a rather dark setting, too. But thanks. <3

final fantasy legends 3 maybe?

4 main characters thru the game, a 5th guest that rotates in, and you can feed meat/install parts after some fights to turn your party into monsters/robots?

!!! I think that's it. I never thought it was part of the FF franchise, gonna see where I can find this now. Shouldn't be that hard. <3

e: Actually the original Legend was what I initially meant, the robot part sounded a bit off. God this is like finding out Capitalism II exists in 2010. <3

It's not "Archon: The Light and the Dark", but apparently the spiritual sucessor "Dark Legions". Thanks for setting me to the right direction Now to find the other 3 games.

This is quite a long shot, but if there's a chance, I'll take it.

I'm looking for a ps1 game. I can't remember much about the gameplay, and I'm fairly certain the version I had played was only a demo on one of those sample discs. There was some kind of village near the shore / a beach that is suddenly attacked by monsters (around sunset iirc). The shore was to the south and the attack comes from the north. All I can remember after that is a fence, fighting, and lots of things burning. I'd guess the game would be released around 1994-1999. I've checked all the sample discs that I still have, but it's not among them.

PC Game.

This dude (plumber? electrician?) advancing through an office tower. Each level you gotta get past mobs. It's a puzzle kinda game iirc. I think there were about a hundred levels. I think it was isometric view too.

Thanks in advance!

I don't expect anyone to find this game, but since there's a thread for it, I'll give it a shot.

I'm looking for a text adventure game, I think it had something to do with Long John Silver, it was pirate themed, and it was an RPG. What you did was basically kill rats and stuff in a forest until you were able to buy better gear... I think the objective was to kill a bunch of different bosses until you were able to kill Long John Silver. It was incredibly addictive. Alas, I only had the demo, which I got from some game magazine. This was 15 years ago or so, but the game was likely older.

Bolded sounds like Chrono Cross. You lost me at monsters, but it's possible you may have misinterpreted it. :/

The "attack from the North" reminds me of the tsunami from Chrono Cross, the "lots of things burning" reminds me of FF7.
It's a wild guess, but it's all I have.

Okay. Here's one that's stumped me and my google-fu.

Back on the original NES. The game is Greek mythology themed, a side scrolling adventure style game. (I do not believe it is Kid Icarus.) You traveled around Greece, and it was somewhat non-linear. You fought Greek monsters (example, Medusa), you traveled to different city-state areas (Mycenae, for example) and did so across water by using a magical conch shell to summon a dolphin that you would ride. (Possibly at some point you got to use a pegasus. It's been a long bloody time.)

Typical of the time, you could "save" your progress with a horrifically long password that helped define where you were, what you had, your life and weapons, etc.

Again, I've looked at Kid Icarus, and I'm pretty sure that's not it. It had a different graphical style, slightly darker colors.

Anyone have an idea?

Edit:
Oh hell, I double check and think maybe it's this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Battle_of_Olympus
Yes, I email sponsors... to thank them. Don't post drunk, kids. My king, what has become of you?
