(Also 8000th post probably gonna be wasted on some more ranting in there. Well at least it won't be on berating Dignitas.) lol I posted my 3000th in the Curse fan thread, they rewarded this by losing >_< Become a Dig fan, losing will be your daily routine. Makes getting excited about the matches they do play well (yesterday's Patoy <3) much easier. Believe me, I feel your pain, neither Curse or dig have seemed like they wanted to win recently. dig is my second favorite team so there's also that... Yup, I remember you saying that, I believe it was the day before yesterday. I actually compared Dignitas' low level of play to those solo Q players that are so bad they make you acknowledge a game as lost even before 20 minutes to explain them to a friend. The differences being that Dignitas have proportionally more derp games than I cross those players' paths, and that while I just give up on the game so I stop caring, I can't seem to be able to give up on Dig. OT, this outcomes pretty much spells trouble for Marn, doesn't it? Or are they above Vulcun?
Marn and Complexity guaranteed 7/8(order dependent on which wins their game) meaning they're knocked down to the qualifying tournament for next season.

CLG really fallen from grace

I'm confused at this tournament structure. Was this season actually worth anything except their salaries?

Adding to that Vulcun has gone 3-0 these past few days, so there is no way they are dropping that 5th position.

There is a playoffs too, which they play for the monies. It's just like a regular sports league. There is the regular season followed by the playoffs/finals/etc.

They have a lot of kinks to work out. Hotshot or LiNk has to create more pressure to alleviate some of the pressure on their bot lane. Doublelift needs to play more consistently. Chauster has to either create more early game pressure or just straight up play smarter. I think Aphro is solid but he needs to just work on the basics.
Their team has a lot of potential. Just between LiNk, Double, and Aphromoo they have a massive amount of talent. I don't know what the overarching problem with CLG is but they need to really figure out how to improve. If you're beating Curse in 9 out of 10 scrims and then dropping games to every "bottom four" team you have some really weird issues to work through.
|
Well for those with a spot in the play-off there's going to be a prize pool, so yes. For those at the bottom... yup, pretty much the salaries. I believe however, that the ability to do nothing but train thanks to the salaries, and playing against established teams like TSM, Curse, Dignitas, CLG (provided they don't derp, which is a totally different matter), has tremendous value as it allowed those teams to grow a lot over those 10 weeks, giving them a sizable edge against the up and coming teams in the promotion qualifiers.

Okay, so there's regional playoffs but no World's for this season? Thanks.
|
I'm surprised they're using those Corsair keyboards. They're notorious for keystroke ghosting problems that was only fixed on the k90 model and not their k60. I have the misfortune of using one.

No, there is still a worlds, but that is some time when all these LCS/ league equivalent things are done. The LCS is separated into two seasons. LCS Qualifiers -> Spring season -> Play offs -> up&down/qualifiers -> summer season -> some time after, teh WORLD

Season isn't the same thing as split.
|
Basically, the total season 3 is comprised of the Spring Season, which is happening now, and the Summer Season, which will be the same 10 weeks + play-offs. At the end of the first part, you have play-offs for the money and fame, then promotion matches allowing teams coming from non-LCS tournaments and the 5v5 ladder to take over one of the bottom four teams (post-play-offs). Then this new pool duke it out for a new set of 10 weeks and play-offs, at the end of which the top teams of the region get sent to the World Championship Series. I guess there'll also be promotion matches at the end too, but they'll certainly be eclipsed by the WCS anyway.
Edit: oh shit there's still potential for my 8th post to be a Dig ranting.

so the outcome of dig vs tsm doesn't matter right now? or can only determine the cosmetic 1st place for tsm? would be pretty sad for such a classic match

Uh... when I noticed Kayle wasn't banned, I expected TSM to follow the "if you take Zed we take her from you, if you don't take him we're rid of it" but that early TF pick is pretty risky.
Edit: ^ yup. Could mean a whole lot, but Dig decided to go hyper-derp-mode against, uh... I don't even remember who they played against already. My mind must want to erase the game from it.

|
Chooooooooooooooooooooo yeah!
|
cho what
can't remember the last time too played it.
Dig doesn't have much range.
|
The General on Cho? I don't remember the last time OddOne has played that.
Edit: I think my favorite part of listening to the casting is all the god-awful puns XD

Maokai wouldn't be bad against Draven (W), Katarina (Q and his ult that's excellent against AoE) and Zed (his ult is very good at reducing an assassin's burst too, on top of having cc to disrupt the 3s window), actually. He also doesn't have to worry too much about Nasus because he has a high amount of damage early on from his spells.
^ I don't remember TOO playing Cho ever. o_o
