So a couple of weeks the Swedish commander in chief made a statement about Sweden not lasting more than a week in case of a Russian invasion. This stirred up (?) lots of discussion about the Swedish military not only inside Sweden but also from Russians. Here's a funny video from the Russian show "Yesterday Live".

Personally I don't really know what the commander wanted to say with this statement -- if it was only to point out how weak, according to him, the Swedish defense is or if he actually thinks there's an actual threat of a Russian attack. The former seems more likely...
Either way it's a funny video even if you're not Swedish nor Russian so I thought I'd share it. Hope someone here enjoys it. : )
EDIT: If you don't recognize it -- the beat and melody used in the video is from one of ABBA's most famous songs -- Mamma Mia

Pretty sure the reason he made those statements was concerning NATO. Sweden is not a member of NATO and NATO has openly stated that if Sweden is invaded, NATO will not assist, and then we are royally screwed because there's no doubt our military is ridiculously weak.
Is there a real threat from Russia? Not likely. It's just the principle that we technically are sitting ducks.

loooooooool
Russians are ballers

Don't worry... If the Nato would want to help you the american leadership would most probably send their forces into switzerland anyway .

Yeah, would be surprising if he meant anything else.

Don't worry guys, they're just on their way to Norway. The Swedish are usually cool with that right?

There really wasn't a single thing I found funny about that video (or to be honest the soliders clothing were quite fabulous) but I still liked it because I don't expect any country or population outside of scandinavia to know or cover anything about Sweden, so it was fun to see.

On second thought, let's not invade Sweden. It is a silly place.
And I'm sure Jinro, Haypro, Naniwa, Thorzain, Morrow, Sjow, and Sase are scary enough to scare away any invaders.

Oh Gawd that was too funny.
ironic note: Finland did an incredible job as shield/defender against the USSR in WWII. Simo Häyhä So badass

Finland, of course, would take 200 years and would hold off odds of 50 to 1.

The funniest thing imo is the way this show interprets the commander's statement -- "As if Russia cares about Sweden lol".

But to me that is not in conflict with the commanders statement, which is "Russia would destroy us even if they didn't care" :p
Regarding his intentions, wouldn't you think it's as simple as he just wants increased funding? From what I read he strongly adressed the issue with our terrible logistic opportunities and what I read him say was that even if NATO DID help us our army is in such horrible shape that we couldn't even transport their army and/or material. Of course he could have numerous reasons for making such a statement but I would think this would be the primary one.
And guys, there is nothing ironic or subtle about shielding behind Finland. It is well known in this region and we are counting on that

Yeah I'm pretty sure this is what he wants, maybe I wasn't clear enough. However, this show looks at it a different way... haha.
