This should be the first post of my blog, I'm a platinum level terran, I'm very comfortable in TvT but not really in the other two match ups.. I stopped to ladder because i was getting insanely frustrated at losing for stupid reasons and decided to go find some people to practice with.
Lately I've been working very hard on spending quotient and constant worker production and finally reached the level i wanted.. nearly every game I have grandmaster or master spending quotient yet... Knowing how to spend doesn't mean you'll win a game versus someone who can't spend.. (http://ggtracker.com/spending_skill_stats#?race=terran&gateway=am)
Today I decided I was ready to ladder. It started horribly,
First game: I got matched versus a zerg.. 2000 avg unspent resources and the zerg still destroyed me thanks to a few fungals and banelings. (My fault, bad micro)
Second game: Got matched versus another zerg, I was so frustrated my the previous game that I started to bm the poor zerg without any real reason. And just ended up rage quitting after losing my worker building my expo to a drone.
Third game: Played a masters terran I decided to 1rax fe into 6 rax while he did the same with a 14cc, I delayed his command center for a while using worker harass. Due to bad scouting I decided to attack early to deal some damage to the expansion but it just ended up in him having more stuff than me, he then counter attack, killed my expo and i eventually won because I was teching behind my previous attack. (All in nothing awesome really)
I decided to write this because I'm still frustrated and I have no clue how to improve now that I have spent so much time and effort on macro. Just grinding games will anger me a lot because losing in a blink of an eye is pretty annoying and might just make me rage quit and go play another game.
This post wasn't a plea of help but more of a huge rant on how frustrating things are one would think if you outmacro by a lot your opponent they can't just destroy you effortless. But I'm clearly wrong

You say you are most comfortable in TvT, but that's the game for which you give the most detailed description. What builds are you using against Z and P? Are you reacting properly to what you see when scouting? Don't worry about your SQ at your level, there are more important things to track.
|
In TvP I 1rax fe into 3rax, 2gas, +1, Stim cs and drops at 9:30. It usually ends up me messing up my emps and instantly losing there.
In TvZ I do the same as toss but lately instead of going medivacs I get less workers on gas and add hellions, at 10 minutes when i push they have their infestors out and just shrug my army off.
|
You should be using a different build vs. Z, either CC first into reactor hellion + banshee or 1rax FE into the same and from there you can either go mech or bio (the builds split after the banshee). Feel free to pm for more details

Just try to ignore when you loose badly and try to make it better, it doesn´t matter if you win, it just matters that you play and improvement comes with time.
Try to cheese a bit or play hidden Expos, when you feel that your opponent or you map isn´t what you want it to be.
I can´t help you with builds, i am high master Protoss, once i had a master terran Account but that was long ago

You're going to lose games, even at the masters level. Just because you practice a matchup a lot doesn't mean you'll have 100% WLR. Look at your replays and see what you lost too, look at your production, compare it to pros.

vs zerg. try bio-mech. some siege tanks is a must cuz else the zerg can just roll in with blings, infestors and kill you straight up. try a lot of harassment with lots of drops tvp. your build is good but try +1 at 9min too with all of that. get 3 rax and then engineering bay immediatly and go further from there. i only go ghosts if he has HT but that's how i play

If you make too few scvs it's easy to have gm SQ. If I have 6 scvs I can spend 100% of my money without any problems. So maybe it's still your macro holding you down.

Take a break if you feel this tilted.
Third game: Played a masters terran I decided to 1rax fe into 6 rax
Don't do builds like this if you really want to improve. Copy builds from the pros until you understand enough about how the game works and the reason why standard builds are standard... because they are good lol.

You take this way too seriously compared to how your skill level is at. Don't play this game if it just makes you frustrated, play if you enjoy doing so.

Yes. Macro is indeed a big part of the game, but what does it matter you have 200 marines if he has 6 collusi? unitcomposistions and scouting is very important to learn, knowing how to react to certain builds/cheeses/styles/composistions and alot of other stuff, is what makes the big difference in alot of games until you get against better players.

50 scv at 10mins every game.

2000 average unspent resource isn't always a bad thing Zerg can be saving up for mutas and broodlords and stockpiling for a remax.
