Honestly, nothing I've seen in sc2 hints at potential domination. MVP end of 2011 is the closest thing we've ever seen, and may see for some time. Get back to me when you can't see any blatant mistakes in most high level matches.

You need to perform over a 2-3 month period in my opinion to have any claim. If Leenock wins IPL. I'd probably say he's the best. (Had Life as my # 1 pre- IPL) In the past 3 months if he wins IPL; Winner of IPL Winner of MLG Summer Championship Winner of World E-sports Masters Winner of RSL season 2 Runner up MLG Fall Chamionship 2 GSL round of 8's Lead his team to the GSTL finals - 4 killing Prime after being 4-1 down, followed by an ace match win against Squirtle in the semi final. At the end of the day though, the 'best player' label is pretty meaningless in the current state of sc2. You can pretty much throw a blanket over 5-6 players that can all beat eachother on their day. It would be great to see a player truly dominate but I don't see that happening any time soon. I don't think it will happen either, the metagame isn't very stable at the moment, when you see that a simple small mistake can end the game immediately in almost every match up and with the randomness of the mirror MU. I am really not comfortable with the state of the game right now, I'd rather have some players dominating (Mvp as always would please me even better !), I feel like it is a mark of quality for a RTS.

Which is why Hyun winning would be a much better storyline -_- I'd personally think a GSL title would have a little more gravitas if everyone and his nan wasn't winning it. Then again I guess Life proved that despite being a royal roader he is an absolute terror, and Sniper is obviously talented...I just prefer it when bigger names win GSLs, with the occasional dark horse making it through, rather than vice versa.

Give me a break guys. You can down play his win all you want but he did it and he's been doing a-okay in my book for a while.

I actually expected that to happen a lot sooner. I was kind of surprised to see certain players making multiple appearances in the finals and in some cases winning.

It's not downplaying his win. Skill is skill. He's in the same boat as Jjakji and to a lesser extent Seed. Sniper just comes across as a boring/unexpected champ. He isn't one of the more established players like: MVP, MC, Nestea, MMA, etc Nor one that had incredible hype on his run like: DRG, Symbol, Rain, Bogus, Bomber, or Parting He doesn't seem to have any innovative play to speak of. Nor does he seem to have much personality. He's just very solid and he quietly managed to get the job done again and again. Nothing wrong with that, it's just he isn't very distinguishing yet so it's no surprise people aren't satisfied with his win. We'll see where he goes from here.
