I have been a bit lazy when it came to mapmaking recently, as I have been working on other projects. But here is finally the map thread for TPW Vendetta, my MotM submission.

As usual, I am continueing the tradition of porting all tilesets into space platforms. This time: Redstone. Redstone has some beautiful textures, imho, which are used not often enough. I have been wanting to use this tileset for a while now.

You may notice some similarities to TPW Odin. I had originally started working on this map back in february, iirc. When I stopped working on it, wrl had picked up the concept again and made TPW Odin.
That somewhat forced me to again make some changes to vendetta to the point where I started to like this map again and got the motivation to finish it

Very standard. Also, if you make a map around Redstone, why don't youbuse the red stone? :D

not sure what you mean, 6/8 textures are redstone textures, which qualifies it as a redstone map imho :D

Redstone rocks were not used though. And they really are hardly used.

Good texturing btw. They fit very well.

This map seems a bit vanilla at first (other than it being mirror instead of rotational), but it's actually a lot more interesting than the first glance gives it credit for. The way it handles having 2 ramps without rocks @ the nat but still being FFE'able is nice. The island above the XNT is cute, but far enough away from the easiest attack paths that it is a gamble to actually put anything of value up there like a tank (at least until late game), so it isn't very OP for anyone. It does make getting a reaper early against zerg kind of a nice option just for an easy secure on the XNT (although the XNT's value in the early game on this map is dubious). The stretch of land behind the 4ths is interesting, although I'm having trouble envisioning many possible uses for it. Some people will probably say the map has split-map syndrome, but the bottom and top attack paths are far enough away from each other that it shouldn't be a big issue (imo). Aesthetics are simple but polished, nice.

9/10 I'd say - probably has a good chance in motm. Good job!
