It's actually quite good timing, because Day[9]'s Newbie Tuesday this week actually dealt almost exaclty with the kind of thing that I've decided to focus on. Perfect! With that fuel fresh in mind, it's time to practice!

jambrez (T) vs Apocriva (Z) (Loss)
With the idea in mind of focusing on larvae and Day[9]'s advice to lose by having way too many drones, I focus almost entirely on making drones!
- I don't watch for Terran expansions. (I'm also largely in danger of early aggression, but I'm not so worried about that.
- I really screw up my queen timings! I dunno what's up with that. I also do really poorly with injections early on, gross.
- I really need to have two gas started at the same time as my lair, I think. I don't endup with enough gas to do anything. Once the lair is complete, I think I really should have four gas up at least.
- I get my spire out and then don't actually have gas for anything. The gas at my third needed to be up a long time ago.
- I don't see the Terran's attack until he rolls into my third. Spread out those overlords!
Chu (P) vs Apocriva (Z) (Loss)
- Early on, I get thrown off by a probe. That sucks, but I don't think it's the worst thing that happens to me.
- I have noticed in the last few games that I can't get a queen as early as I had been doing, but I can certainly expand a lot more quickly. I get my third up at just after 6:00.
- I should maybe have had spines up by 8 minutes. I wasn't keeping tabs on my opponent. Either way, I have my first big forgetting of drones aroundt hen, while I'm setting up tech. (I totally forgot to make my gas and lair early on, boo.)
- I'm starting my lair and hive at 12 mins, and have 76 drones altogether. Larvae are piling up though.
- Big attack from Protoss moves out at 13 mins, and I see it on the minimap. I have a buttload of minerals and no gas. I notice that I forgot to put drones on one of the gas in my natural. Oops.
- I have a dozen or so too many drones at my third.
- I had a zergling patrolling to check bases, but it totally missed the third that Protoss was setting up.
- The attack finally reaches my front door at around 15 mins, two minutes after I first noticed the attack. I have 30 larvae doing nothing. Would definitely have been a good time to have done something like at least making zerglings.
In the end, I didn't have nearly enough gas for making Corruptors, Infestors and Brood Lords. Could one gas geyser make the difference? I'm not convinced. At the same time, though, how can I take a fourth when the Protoss army was going to be knocking on my door? Hmm.
What the heck. I had a third replay analysis in there that somehow disappeared. Whoops. It went well, though.
In any event, that's enough for tonight. "Learning"-style games take a lot longer to go through than simply playing! Next night I play, I'll probably skip the indepth analysis and just work on playing as many games as possible to try and work on the 'feel' of things.
