My name is Michael Alejandro Menendez.
I am a 19 year old guy living in the United States.
My handle is PaleRider. I play Terran. I am in Platinum League. I want to be in Master's League by the time I go back to school late August.
These past couple months, I've had a lack of motivation in almost every aspect of my life. School, work, even SC2. I want to be good at this game, and if I can't find the discipline to play a friggin video game, I don't know why I can be disciplined to do well in school.
I used to be very motivated and disciplined in everything I did. I used to be very good at everything I did. And I want to do that again.
This blog will serve as a public declaration, an exercise, and a log of growth. If I have the time to play, I WILL play. I will recount each session after done laddering. I will reflect on how everything went, and I will think about something that I learned that day.
I've always been a believer that you can do anything you want. All you need to do is work harder. There is no such thing as destiny to me, only the results of your own decisions. It's time to put all that to the test.

I'm glad that you didn't say you wanted to be a progamer. Good luck!

Good luck, man! I look forward to seeing how your climb to masters pans out. I've been trying to climb myself up as well, but recently I've hit a plateau; here's to hoping for the best.

Good luck! I'm high Diamond, trying to break into Masters too. I think my PvT is my strongest matchup so if you would like to practice let me know! I need some practice partners.

The best advice I can give you is to stay motivated. Don't play for the sake of playing ('practicing' will only get you so far), play with a thirst. Playing with a bad mind-set won't help you improve and can ruin your day, always jump in with a positive mindset and with clear thoughts. Playing too much can put you in auto-pilot mode and thats no good. Bounce back from losses quickly, analyze your mistakes and know when to take breaks. Watching sc2 videos / documentaries / pro games before I play helps me a lot with going in with an enthusiastic mind-set.

Good luck when you get to the verge of masters. If you're not good dealing with cheese then you will be. So many kids want to to get there with no skill.

I appreciate the support, everyone!
@Adersick: You can always improve. Always.
@Xyik: Title of my blog is "Motivate Yourself"
@Attsy: Yeah I've heard the stories of diamond league. Looking forward to learning how to defend myself properly.

What matchup do you have the most trouble with?

TvP. It's not necessarily the race itself, but the fact that I can't control my bio ball + vikings very well together. I can stutter and split pretty well, but controlling the entire army the way I really want it to move is a bit taxing. Nothing that practice can't fix. It has been improving though.
