After spending some time reviewing my macro, I've realized my biggest issue was constantly cutting drones to crank out units, this resulted in me constantly being on 3 base and having the income of 2 base, or 4 base with income of 3 respectively. I am far better off making a macro hatch.
On the topic of a macro hatch, it's a habit I don't quite have yet, nor do I know if it is really a viable option at this point in my development, as I tend to keep up quite well with my resource/larvae rate mid game, late game I get a bit stacked in the resource department, so I suppose macro hatch after 4th would be more useful. Then again, is the goal to all kill the opponent or just keep getting ahead? That's the true question. Do units actually count as getting head. It's nice to see that my minor tweaks to my gameplay have given me some serious changes in how well I perform. Only playing bronze/silver players in the past, now I am facing far more gold/platinum players. This is what I would like to see.
Still, I would love to take a couple weeks off work just to test the waters and see if I can seriously improve, making a 40 hour per week minimum effort to take myself higher. That being said, only issue I need to overcome right at this moment is reading my replays and learning from my mistakes.
I did encounter a very interesting build tonight that is new to me. I have never seen a 1 rax expand from Terran before. That obliterated me badly, however, I did stupidly build 2 Baneling nests....I wasn't really thinking about what I had done. I made the nest, then on reaction I built one to bust the wall...totally forgot I had one already. Replay Link here for anyone interested. This was an interesting one that I need to read better next time, and not make needless wastes of 150M/50G. (-_-')
I'll probably start updating this more regularly too while I'm at becoming more active in Starcraft. http://twitch.tv/creegz when I do stream I tweet it. http://twitter.com/creigz.
