edit: That sounded kinda condescending which was unintended. I think at the core it comes from still thinking of myself as new around here anyway~

What if you need it for food? Are you not a starving college student? (I am ofc). I mean, best of luck, but i don't see this working out at all.

There are a couple different ways people have been looking at it. One being, this would make them want to post more or that they would just post more as an excuse to buy/get more rewards. One post even asking what is stopping me from just buying the stuff with my money now and not bothering. The other (mainly brought up by galtdunn), is that it is too costly and toohard to have the right amount laying around to put in the jar after each post. In response to these I would say that I find myself in some sort of middle ground where I am not a starving college student, but am not rich enough to just have a huge amount of dispensable money. So I can't afford to just run out and spend 1000$ and say "ok, now i dont have to worry about putting a dollar in for my next 1000 posts". So I'm not just going to be posting like mad to get shiny new stuff. But at the same time I'm in a position where (as long as im not posting like a wild man, quality > quantity) 1$ per post shouldn't cut to deep into my bank account to affect me per post. And in regards to not 'always having one dollar bills with me', in Australia we don't use one dollar bills, we have coins. Not only that, I can always use silver coins to make up a dollar and I'm not sure about the rest of Australia but i always have an abundance of silver coins laying around because frankly, I find it impractical to carry around tens of coins in a little wallet. I generally just throw them on my desk when my wallet gets to fat with them and carry on using notes instead. So I don't forsee any problems coming up with an exact dollar for every post, assuming there wont be crazy amounts every day. In goes the first dollar!

your profile info says you average 3 posts a day, in a month you nearly get 100 dollars when continuing your current posting habits... i guess there will be enough opportunities for some good stuff on the side gl

I don't understand why the fuck stupid, cunt assholes would use something as dumb as fuck as a swear jar though. Swearing is so colorful if used properly. Edit: Oh wait I just understood the principle of the post jar. I still dislike the idea though simply because I'm sure that better quality posts could be achieved by simply asking the question "is this post going to add something meaningful to the discussion or not?"
