I feel like ELO is not being weighted properly, or maybe there should be a minimum number of games played before a player qualifies for the top 10. Granted I've only been watching GSL lately, but I've never even heard of LiveZerg. I'm sure he's great, but I don't feel he has played enough important games to earn rank 2 among all foreigners. A quick look at his much history shows him dropping a lot of matches and games to players who aren't even in the top 100 and never attending a major tournament or LAN. Somehow he still ranks above players like Leenock and Naniwa with Zotac cup wins? Personally I don't think it should be so easy to cruise low level tournaments and end up rank second on the TLPD with a higher ELO than NesTea. I understand that Data is Data and not much can be done about that, but if it is truly your desire to establish an accurate power ranking list rather than throwing out useless stats I would suggest that you either investigate the way the ELO is being calculated or put a minimum number of games requirement on the TLPD so that we can get useful data out of the list.

LiveZerg has over 250 total games played so ... yeah. For the short term we have no plans to alter how Elo functions but there have been discussions about how our ranking system will function in the future. Anyways players peak, and then they fall again in the rankings. Every time a player who isn't a huge name makes it into the Top 5 there is someone whining that there is something gravely wrong with our system because of this one player. Basically, there are a lot of good European players that us NA fans hardly ever see. Don't freak out when one of them is on a bit of a hot streak and makes it to the Top 5. It isn't the end of the world. Considering LiveZerg is pretty weak in ZvT I think you can safely assume he won't be in the Top 5 for long.

I am wondering, shouldn't TLPD-izing a post not default to SC2. I know the backbone of TL is BW, but if you are talking about a certain player that has a SC2 profile as well as a BW profile, wouldn't it be more logical to assume we want the most up to date - currently more relevant - thus SC2 profile?

I feel like you guys should consider splitting it into separate live/online elos, especially considering the problem currently with cross-server latency. Granting/Taking away elo based on Kr-NA or sometimes even KR-EU is pretty non-nonsensical. No one would ever argue that beating Nestea in an online environment is in any way equivalent to beating nestea face to face at a LAN (or else Goody would be a top foreigner XD). Conversely, someone like HuK losing in a cross-server clan match/NASL to some random will obviously greatly reduce his elo even though he is obviously playing in sub-standard conditions.
