This is just the tip of the iceberg of resources you can easily find.

1 - Main Army (you can keep your entire army on one hotkey for a while but eventually you'll want 2-3 groups. 2 - Air Units 3 - Spell Casters 4 - Nexii 5 - Gateways 6/7 - Robo/Stargate. This enables you to 1a2a3a to attack and 4e to make probes. As for how you move around the map, try to avoid scrolling. It's ok if you're just moving the camera a small distance, but if I'm moving the screen more than a few screens away, I click on the minimap. Another good habit to get into is using fkeys. In the hotkey window you should see something called screen locations (I think that's what they're called?) I believe they're bound to F5/F6/F7/F8 by default. You'll want to change these to F1/F2/F3/F4 and use those for stuff. I personally have F1 set as whatever pylon I'm using to warp in and F2/F3/F4 as my main, natural and third respectively. If you'd like, pm me on TL or add me ingame (Korinai.698) and we can talk about more specific mechanic / race stuff.

I play with a pretty standard Terran set up: 1 - army 2 - army 2nd group (harass dropship, tanks, ghosts, hellions) 3 - barracks 4 - factories 5 - starports 6 - command Centers 9 - upgrade buildings One you get much better, make ~ into a army hotkey as well so you have 3. Just spam 6543 on a regular basis and keep pumping units out. Toss generally requires less hotkeys at most lower levels of play, so just have army hotkeys (123, but at your level you only need 1 with toss since toss typically doesn't harass much) robo hotkeys 4 and nexus hotkeyed (5 or 6). Proper zerg hotkeys are a mystery to me. I also find it usefull to hotkey a plyon somewhere for when I just need to spamwarp units fast. Move around your minimap by simply doubleclicking your hotkeys. If you need to go back to your base: doubletap your nexus or CC hotkey. Need to go to your army, doubletap your army hotkey. At higher levels you can start using actual screen hotkeys, but don't even attempt that if you're currently being overwhelmed by the basics.

Try just putting all your army on 1 your nexus on 2 Your main unit production buildings on 3 This will keep your hands on one side of the keyboard. Switch your hotkey setup to grid. This will put everything you need on the left side of the keyboard. I had this exact setup untill top plat. Now i use cutstom hotkeys and use a few more unit hotkeys, and im forever diamond. I am thirty, so diamond isnt to shabby for an old man. gl :D

i say the SAME THING to every single noob about how to learn sc2 fast. do this in these steps and you will improve massively. in the level of important from 1-3 1. MAKE MONEY. Chrono probes/mules/ drones, KEEP MAKIN EM, dont fuckign stop making them, and dont cue up 5 workers, i just mean constant worker production. 2. SPEND MONEY. when ur noob, if u did step 1 right, you will have 2000+ minerals. You will learn to SPEND IT, drop more racks/gateways, hatches, fuck even if u dont NEED marines, fucking make marines to spend that money, i don't care how you do it, just get to 0 3. Balance the 1 and 2. you'll be in gold if you do 1 and 2 correctly, and from there can you only execute and UNDERSTAND build orders. the above steps are simple, and its all you need to know (fundamentally speaking) i got to masters in liek 5-6 months (which is genius or anything) but i played a lot, and just watched streams, found out what worked and what didnt, etc etc

As with any change to the way you play, you are going to lose games. Maybe lots of games. Until you use hotkeys instinctively, the way you can currently play with the mouse or whatever instinctively. At that point, you will have greatly improved your game. Just don't be afraid to change habits that you know are bad. You aren't gaining yourself anything at all by training yourself to play in an uneconomical way. Good luck!
